March Empties!

Hello! It's been a good week into April and I apologise for the tardiness! :p March has been a pretty good month in terms of empties as I have used up quite a few products!

Before I move on to the post, I would like to point out that I have already come to the very last squeeze of my SK-II Facial Treatment Gentle Cleanser but it did not make it to the group photo of empties as Mum popped it into the bin before I could say….

NNNOOOOOoOoOOO!!!

Another travel essentials post!

Hello lovelies!!

I’m currently blogging with my phone, via the WordPress app so I have no idea if the post will look ok once posted *fingers crossed*!

Right now, I’m “roasting” at my grandma’s place up north. It’s so hot (we arrived early today) and humid that I think I could actually melt and turn into a puddle of lard. It really is that hot!

Also, it’s lovely taking time off work and being away from home for a bit! I’m really thankful my grandmothers are still around, so coming to visit them’s a brilliant excuse, if you like to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city!

Again, I did my very best to travel light today, you can see my other travel essentials posts here and here :p

Lets start with skin care! Here’s what I packed:

20130402-170658.jpg

1. Guerlain Secret de Purete Cleansing Cream
I’m pretty bold this time round! I do not usually test stuff out while I’m on holiday for fear of breaking out badly. I shall report back in one of my Sampling Sunday post! :)

2. Origins Modern Friction scrub
I have reviewed this quite some time ago (here) and this came as a GWP. I now use this as a diluted scrub and it works really well when I’m on holiday as it gets rid of all those grimy bits of dirt left on my face. Believe me, coming to my hometown always makes my face feel rather greasy + clogged up so this is a lifesaver!

3. SK-II Cellumination Mask-in-Lotion

A quick and moisturising lotion that works wonder for me! It softens my skin like no other and it doesn’t break me out! :)

4. Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream
Light, moisturising, good price. Can’t go wrong with this one! I use it in the daytime only as the last thing I want is for me to be stuck with an oily T-Zone before noon!

5. Creme de La Mer moisturising soft cream
A sample I bagged from the lovely SA at Fenwick’s last September. Only giving it a go now and I think I am in love!

6. Shiseido Perfect UV protector

I never go anywhere without this. I have backups of backups of this product. Nuff’ said. ;)

7. SK-II Cellumination Deep Surge EX
I received a sample of this as the SK-II SA recommended it to me. Didn’t realise I packed more than one moisturizer! #badpacker

8. Clinique Even Better Eyes dark circle corrector
Still trying this out. Early days but I think this product and I can actually be more than just friends.

9. SK-II Facial Treatment Essence
Potent stuff, this one. Broke me out a few years ago but it seems to be working oh-so-fine for me now.

10. SK-II Facial Treatment Lotion
A need when I travel. This removes every last bit of makeup / grime I’ve got on my face.

11. Cellnique’s Soothing Hydrating Lotion (in little spray bottle)

I love this. Love, love, love, love love this. Thanks, soulmate!

12. SK-II Facial Treatment Cleanser
Another fav. I used to be the kind of girl who didn’t think pricey cleansers would be worth the money but this one changed my mind. Check it out here!

13. Clinique’s Take the Day Off eye makeup remover
Another deluxe-sized sample I never quite got down to using. This is the second (out of four) that I’ve got. I can’t say I love this as it does make my eyesight go a bit blurry but it does the job and doesn’t irritate my eyes.

Moving on to the fun bit now: Make up!

20130402-205650.jpg

1. Guerlain Parure de Nuit powder & blush

Again, using this for the first time. Don’t know what got to me early today! I picked it out of it’s box just as I was about to leave for the airport. It’s lovely. So pretty. I use it as an all-over face powder and blush!

2. Clinique Chubby Stick 04 Mega Melon

Goodness! What took me so long! I now have two Chubby Stick Intense-s and one regular one and I think I like the original formulation better! I need more of these in my life! :D

3. Guerlain L’or Radiance Concentrate with Pure Gold
Sigh. Looking at this makes me miss Fenwick’s even more. Jackie (my favourite Guerlain SA ever) gave this (and a couple other stuff) to me just as I was leaving the UK. :’) Again, first time I’m using this! I’m now a little worried I’ll go home with a face-ful of irritated skin!

4. Acqua di Parma Gelsomino Nobile edp
*smells self* this is seriously good stuff. Need to get more than just one tiny vial! :D

5. BareMinerals Ready eyeshadow duo

Another travesty! I can’t remember the name of this eyeshadow duo (I’m not with my makeup at the moment, sorry!) but yes, I will update it as soon as I’m reunited with it! Also, I didn’t bring an eye primer. The horror.

6. SK-II Facial Treatment Cream Foundation in shade 310
I wore this without primer in the morning. When I say morning, I mean before the break of dawn (5am). I was going to take a shower at 2pm when I looked at the mirror. No sign of any bits sliding off. Impressed I am.

7. Shiseido Perfect Mascara Defining Volume
I promised my grandma I would put in a little more effort into the way I dress when I’m visiting her. To be honest, I don’t really bother with any make up when I’m visiting the grannies as it’s so very hot here and I just can’t be bothered as there is little to no chance that I’ll bump into someone I know all the way up here! This time, I thought I should make it a point to brush some mascara through my lashes. :p

8. Shu Uemura eyelash curler
Still happily curling my lashes with this one!

9. Creme de La mer The Radiant Concealer in Light
My HG concealer. The one concealer that rules them all (in my opinion, at least). You may have a look at the review here :)

Finally! I hope you enjoyed reading this! :)

Thought I’d end the post with a photo of grandma and I (minimal makeup, just the Sk-II foundation and the Parure de Nuit powder with a quick slick of Clinique’s Chubby Stick!). This was taken in the afternoon without any filters. I look really hot and bothered but just so happy to see her! I forgot to take one with my other grandma +___+ but there’s always another time! :)

A Post of Firsts

Not the first kiss type of post but… The products that kick-started my beauty product obsession!

I only started wearing makeup pretty late in life… Back in 2011. At Heathrow airport when I made a rushed, panicked trip back home for Chinese New Year. The stress I went through also meant I was suffering from one of the worst breakouts I’ve ever had in my life.

I picked up the newly launched Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, my very first foundation. I also picked up a Chanel Vitalumiere Lipgloss in Canari which also became my very first lipgloss!

Prior to heading back, I started out by picking up what I thought would be the best concealer in the world – Laura Mercier’s Secret Camouflage as well as a good powder foundation to set the foundation. I chose the Dior Diorskin Nude Sculpting Natural Glow Make Up.

Recently, I was told that it’s better for us to set liquid foundation with loose powder but I have only been lightly dusting my face with the Dior’s Natural Glow face powder and I don’t think it has ever done me any harm.

What’s base makeup without blush? Allow me to let you in on a really funny story. The boyfriend and I were walking in House of Fraser, Westfield White City when we stumbled upon Benefit’s counter. Having read many fun things about Benefit’s makeup, the boyfriend suggested I treat myself (yep, not he, but I treat myself) to an item from the counter.

The very lovely SA (oh how I miss friendly SAs) then gave me a really quick makeover and she used Coralista on me. When I took a step back and looked into the half-length mirror in front of me, my boyfriend gasped. And insisted I take the blush.

In case you were wondering, he paid in the end. =D A good £23.50, if I may add. ;)

I would go on and let you in on which eyeshadows I purchased first and everything else but unfortunately, I can’t recall them anymore so I guess this little post will have to do. ;)

But I do remember my very first lipstick! It’s from Guerlain. =)

Looking back, I did splurge quite a bit on the bigger brands but that’s because I had no faith in drugstore / pharmacy brands. Now that I’ve done a lot more research a.k.a read loads of beauty blogs, I have more confidence when it comes to purchasing high street makeup. In fact, some of my much-loved products come from high street brands. =)

Care to share your makeup firsts with me? =)

Excessive packer.

If you follow me on Twitter, you may have noticed me flooding your timeline at about 7am (Malaysian time) yesterday. The last day of 2012 was a crazy one for me where my body simply had to kick the day off on a high note, temperature wise. It is frustrating for me as I only just recovered from a bad cold, and having this with another last minute piece of news sent my body into overdrive.

Then comes the reason behind me flooding Twitter with one too many tweets at once. I received a call from Mum while I was out yesterday asking me to book myself a ticket back to my hometown up north. Apart from that, I had to book myself a ticket out of that city the very next day and head to the Pearl of the Orient, with grandma in tow. Tickets also had to be booked for her to travel back to said hometown a couple of days later, this time the companion being an aunt.

Upon receiving the news (which is great news, by the way) I had to rush to purchase all the tickets. Thank goodness I had my Ipad with me or I would have gone a little bonkers as I was going to be out until late evening. Tickets were bought, words exchange, transportation arranged and here I am, telling you the story of how I can never, ever pack light.

I flew back to my hometown with Air Asia, Malaysia's famous low-cost carrier and I proudly proclaimed to mum the night before

“Yay I am so happy my suitcase's ultra light this time round!”

Mum happily agreed with me. I only carried a “few” items, them being:

Femme Boulevard December: Ushering 2013 in Style!

Hello lovelies! I hope all of you have had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to the new year! I for one am extremely excited about the new year and I will let you in on why in a bit. Meanwhile, allow me to introduce you to today’s post!

Yours truly has been given the opportunity to participate in a Femme Boulevard post! Femme Boulevard is a monthly column written by three fabulous bloggers: Joey , Lily, and Teri. For the month of December, the three lovelies decided to open their column to all us beauty bloggers out to join in the New Year festivities and so here I am, attempting to do something totally out of my comfort zone!

The theme of today’s look is metallic / shiny lids with vampy / bold lips. Imagine my slight horror when I read those words as I have never really worn bold lips out nor have I worn metallic lids very much. Thankfully, it can be an editorial, wearable look or “anything, as long as you have fun doing it” qoute Lily. ;)

I chose my look based on something wearable as I will be attend a cousin’s wedding early January 2013, the main reason on why I am so excited about starting the new year!

Onto this wearable look! Here are the products I used to create the look:

Products used to create Femme Boulevard December 2012 look

As I will be wearing a teal dress (either the one featured in this post or another) to the wedding, I thought I’d match my eyeshadow with my dress. I then dug out my Guerlain Les Ombres de Nuit 4 -Colour Palette from Guerlain’s Christmas 2011 collection. The look also requires vampy lips and I immediately thought of the Guerlain Nuit d’Amour Rouge Automatique from the same Christmas collection!

Here’s a list of the other products I used:

1. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in 51

2. Creme de La Mer The Radiant Concealer in Light

3. K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner 24h Waterproof in Black

4. No7 Nude Lip Liner

5. Shiseido Perfect Mascara Defining Volume

6. Guerlain Terracotta La Selection De L’ete

7. Guerlain Blush 4 Eclats Rose Plein Vert 05

8. Guerlain Rouge Shine Automatique in Altoum

9. Shu Uemura Hard Formula Brow Pencil in 05 Stone Grey

And… Here’s the look!

Femme Boulevard December 2012 shiny lids

Pardon the peeling nose, I’ve just recovered from a full-blown cold but my nose has not ceased shedding its skin just yet!

Onto the face first, I used Bourjois’ Healthy Mix foundation as it’s more moisturising and it’s yellow undertones really help conceal the redness around my nose and cheek area. My skin has also been dry of late so this is a go-to for evenings out! A light dusting of blush went with the look as I didn’t want to take any attention away from my eyes / lips. An attempt to contour went in too with the Guerlain bronzer but it doesn’t really show up in the photos.

For the eyes! I first applied a thin layer of the shimmering grey shade all over the lids. Then I took the blackened blue shade and applied it on the outer lids, slowly working it into my crease. I layered on the colours slowly and carefully as I wanted all shades to blend well together. The lighter teal shade was used on the middle of both lids and blended out. The key to this look? Blend, blend and blend some more! I dabbed some of the shimmering grey eyeshadow on the corner of my eyes to make them pop a little.

As this look will be worn in the evening, I brought some of the blackened blue shade down under the outer corner of my eyes and blended that out with the teal and grey shades, working my way to the inner corners of my eyes.

The eyes were tightlined with the K-Palette eyeliner, a gift from my soulmate who with Lily introduced me into the world of eyeliners. =) As usual, I then curled my eyelashes with my trusty Shu Uemura lash curlers and lashings of the Shiseido mascara went through them. Brows were lightly filled with the Shu Uemura Brow Pencil.

Finally, I lined and filled in my lips with the No7 Nude lip liner before applying the Guerlain Nuit d’Amour Rouge Automatique with a lip brush onto my lips. Upon applying the shade I felt it could do with a little shine so I slicked on a layer of Guerlain’s Altoum Shine Automatique but it’s barely visible, even in real life. Guess I shouldn’t have bothered with it. =p

I tried my very best to take photos without me looking really silly but I guess I am not photogenic at all. Sigh. I’ll let the photos do the talking.

This one, I took in hope of showcasing the eyes without looking weird. Succeeded in the eye department, failed in terms of looking weird.

Femme Boulevard December 2012 Metallic Lids Vampy Lip

Then there’s this shot. A family member mentioned I bear an uncanny resemblance to The Joker.

Femme Boulevard December 2012 New Year look

Do you think the look meets the shiny / bold look? The look’s nothing metallic as I can’t bring myself to wear such a bold eye out but the shine gives my eyes more depth. The deep plummy lips  seems to breathe a new lease of life into an otherwise boring matchy eye and dress look. What say you?

Do not forget to check out what the other ladies think! =D

Saturday Meme: 5 Holy Grail Skincare / Makeup products!

edit: This post has been delayed by one day due to unforeseen circumstances. ;)

I try my very best to refrain from using the term Holy Grail (HG) because what I consider HG now may not be a HG item for me a couple of months down the line.

In this week’s Saturday Meme, Steph and I decided to bring together our 5 favourite, or Holy Grail if you like makeup and skincare products into one post!

Compiling my top 5 products was tough so what I did was brought out items that have been put to good use on my dresser over the last year or so! Please bear in mind that some products on this Holy Grail list may change over time as I like trying new products out and the blog would be dead should I stick to repurchasing these 5 products over and over! ;)

I shall start this week’s Meme with the one skincare product that I have been repurchasing over the last 3 years. I go through a plethora of skincare products but this is the one product that always sits on my dresser:

1. Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Advance Face Serum

This product comes in two sizes – 30ml and 50ml. I have recently used up my 50ml bottle and coincidentally this 30ml bottle was a gift from the fabulous lady behind Beaute Fabuleuse. I like this because it’s non-oily, does not break me out and did help with the severe redness I suffer from but I kind of feel that it’s stopped working for me as I still suffer from redness although it isn’t as bad as before. I know it’s a skin thing and I can’t expect a product to perform a miracle and take my redness away but I wish the Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief serum would do just that little bit more. =p

2. Shiseido’s Perfect UV Protector SPF50+ PA+++

Sunscreen has always been a must-have for me and this one has achieved Holy Grail status due to it’s light, watery texture and the fact that I never burn or tan when I have a layer of this on my skin. This is one incredible product that I will repurchase over and over.

3. Facial Sprays! Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir and Vichy’s Eau Thermal Spray

I am cheekily featuring two products here because I love facial sprays and they both have a special place on my dresser for different reasons lol! First up, Vichy’s Eau Thermal Spray has been a constant feature in my Bottoms Up series and I have been through many a can of these thermal spa water sprays. Mum always says that it’s only water and instead of spending so much on ‘French water’ as she calls it, I might as well purchase an empty spray bottle and fill it up with Malaysian tap water haha! From my point of view, this just softens my skin and doesn’t leave it feeling parched! It also preps my skin for toner and as my face is already damp I noticed I do not use as much toner / serum / moisturiser as I used to which can only mean this is a good thing! =D

Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir on the other hand is infused with essential oils and is more than water. I bought my Mum a bottle of this to entice her over to the dark side and she loves it! =p On some mornings if time seems to be moving faster than my hands I use this as a facial spray + toner but other than that this is used as a ‘sealant’ whereby I spritz it onto my face as a final step in my skincare routine! I usually have early starts to the day and this really helps drag me out of my usual zombie-mode! My body and mind is always set to auto-pilot mode the very instant I wake up: I head to the loo, brush teeth wash face ease myself before walking to the kitchen to put the kettle to boil, pop some raw porridge and milk into the microwave and time it to 3 minutes before walking back to my room to get dressed and apply skincare. This is what I do every single day if work beckons so spritzing the Beauty Elixir on just freshens me up instantly!

4. Bourjois Foundations!

Bourjois foundations were my very first pharmacy branded foundation purchases and I have never looked back since. To date, they are the only pharmacy / drugstore brand foundations I have ever used because they do quite a good range of differeny foundations with varying textures / finishes so I never felt the need to head towards another drugstore / pharmacy brand! Foundation is extremely important to me because a huge part of my face will be covered in it and the last thing I want is for it to clog my pores or God forbid, break me out! I own quite a few Bourjois foundations and have reviewed them here and all I can say is that they are amazing and please give them a go if you haven’t done so already! I have been reaching out for their newest 123 Perfect foundation on a daily basis as Summer seems to bring out the worst in my skin and this really tones down the redness and stays on my combination / oily skin! Healthy Mix, on the other hand is a great foundation that gives you a satin finish but oilier skins would benefit from wearing a primer underneath as this foundation does have a tendency to slid off my skin in warmer weather! But the 123 Perfect foundation is just perfect for summer. =D

5. Guerlain Lipsticks

I am happy to go out sans foundation but ever since I discovered the joy of wearing lipstick I always make it a point to slick some on before leaving the house just because it makes me feel better when I do so. =) Having been lucky enough to have popped my lipstick cherry with a Rouge G, I have since went on to expand my lipstick collection with Guerlain. As pricey as they are, they are moisturising, have good colour pay off and I am aware that some of their shades can be slightly on the sheer side but I am not into lipsticks that are extremely pigmented (hello, MAC) but into those that wear comfortably on the lips and actually compliment my skintone / look of the day. The luxurious, head-turning packaging makes my day everytime I look at them too and I have a feeling Guerlain’s lippies will be on my HG list for a very long time to come. Then again I have not tried the much raved about Dior Lipsticks BUT! I own a Chanel Rouge Coco Shine and I must say that even that cannot compare to the quality of my very much beloved Rouge Gs, or my lone Rouge Automatique in the above photo. At £29.50 for the Rouge Gs and £24.50 for the Rouge Automatiques it does seem like an exorbitant sum but one believes one must treat oneself! =p

There you have it, my 5 Holy Grail Skincare / Makeup products! What are yours? If you have a blog and would like to re-post this please let the lovely Steph and I know as we love placing our noses into ones Holy Grail list as who knows if we’d find a new Holy Grail product for ourselves! Meanwhile, head over to Beaute Fabuleuse and check out Steph’s 5 Holy Grail products! =D

Guerlain’s Terracotta La Sélection De L’été brings with it a touch of sun!

I’ve been blessed in many ways. The Guerlain Terracotta La Sélection De L’été was gifted to me by a bored friend who had to spend 8 hours in the airport due to a flight delay. She sauntered over to the Guerlain counter and remembered how I once mentioned I would really love to learn how to contour my face.

Thank you so much sweetie :)

So the La Sélection De L’été doesn’t only come with a bronzer / contour shade but houses 4 eyeshadows, cleverly hidden beneath the bronzer!

The case has a heavy, luxe feel to it and comes with a velvet pouch. A brush and sponge applicator is included and they sit comfortably in the pouch, as shown in the photo below:

I wouldn’t use the brush or the sponge applicator as I do not want to leave powdery stains on the lush velvety pouch. Also, the brush feels horribly scratchy and feels cheap. Regular readers would know that I have an issue with scratchy brushes – I usually chuck them out immediately after purchase but I’m keeping this because I like how its bristles are peeking out of the pouch! =) I do not usually use sponge applicators as I prefer using brushes or fingers so hopefully these two make up tools will sit happily ever after in their pouch!

I’m going to gush about the packaging again. The first tier that houses the bronzer is held shut via a magnet and I just love how it sounds when you lift and close the lid as it gives such a gentle *click* everytime you bring the lid down. I don’t know how Guerlain does it. Usually if you bring two magnets together (opposite sides, of course) they get so excited that they come together clumsily, producing a loud clanky noise that sounds unrefined. This? The magnets on this palette welcome their opposite halves with a peck on the cheek that ends in a gentle, posh, almost silent thud.

I was so impressed that I was tempted to film a video demonstrating how lovely it sounds.

+___+

The second tier which houses the eyeshadows is held together via a clasp which equals boring so I’m not going to elaborate on that.

Anyway, here’s the bronzer:

Ladies, I’m afraid the actual product looks two shades darker than this and takes on a redder tinge. I tried my best to capture the colour of this bronzer but I still have a lot to learn in terms of exposure and such. The bronzer looks more like a face powder in the above photo, doesn’t it? :s

For starters, this product contains very fine red and gold shimmer. Not chunky. Only visible when you peer closely at the pan. The powder itself is brown and has a slight orange undertone to it. Finely milled it is and I do not worry about overapplying this because this is not a dark bronzer but a nice light / medium product that blends beautifully onto my skin. Having had no experience with contouring, this is a nice introductory bronzer for me due to its lighter shade. I have not used the darker shade as stripey cheeks are not my cuppa tea.

Here’s a swatch, taken with my fingers:

The lighter shade’s on the left, darker on the right. Swatches were taken with only one swipe. The ever so slight orange undertone doesn’t turn my skin ruddy and looks rather pleasant when applied!

Onto the eyeshadows!

Four shades that wear beautifully either alone or with each other! Clockwise from top left:

Khaki – a beautiful green with red / gold shimmer

Gold – shimmery gold that makes a nice over the lid colour / highlighter

Beige – When this sits with the other three eyeshadows, it looks matte but upon closer inspection it does contain a minimal amount of shimmer. A nice nude colour that I usually use as a base

Purple – deep purple with red / gold shimmer

I see a similar red / gold shimmer theme running through this palette. Do you? ;)

These eyeshadows are best applied with a brush! I tried to do arm swatches with my fingers but it just wouldn’t show up. However, my fingertips picked the colour up beautifully so here’s a fingertip swatch instead!

I personally love greens, golds and purples so this palette reminded me of my Inglot palette ! Honestly, Inglot has the one of the most pigmented and buttery eyeshadows I have ever laid my hands on and I have not found another that rivals that of Inglot’s yet. Guerlain’s, on the other hand is more forgiving as it is easier to blend the eyeshadow out should you make a mistake like I do most of the time whereas with Inglot you pick up so much product with one swipe that you are left with little room for alteration.

Now for the moment of truth…. A FOTD!

Here’s what I used on my face:

1. Bourjois Perfect 123 Foundation in shade 51

2. Guerlain by Emilio Pucci Perles d’Azur Meteorites

3. Guerlain Terracotta Blush & Sun Sheer Bronzing Blush in 01 Sun Light

4. Guerlain Terracotta La Sélection De L’été bronzer

Eyes:

Beige as a base, Gold in center, Khaki and Purple blended into the crease. I primed my eyelids with Urban Decay’s Primer Potion beforehand. Oh and a bit of Shiseido’s Perfect Defining Volume Mascara too.

Lips:

Guerlain Rose Piquant Rouge G Lipstick

My eye sacks are in full view today as I forgot to apply undereye concealer. :s The horror! =D But should you like a closer look at how I did my eyes, here’s a closer shot.

In case you are wondering, no I do not think I sport a sculpted face in these photos! I applied the bronzer with a really light hand as I did not want to risk looking weird as I was heading to lunch with some friends but boy did I get compliments, only after they gasped, pointed fingers at my butchered fringe and went

‘Where on earth did you get your fringe cut?!?’

T___T

How do you like the look? Any better suggestions on how I should use these eyeshadows? Think I should stop doing these FOTDs as I look ridiculous? Let me know in the comments! =D

Have a lovely day!

Weekly Photo Meme! The Body Care Edition and a little surprise!

Hello! Once again, I’m doing Yumeko’s Photo Meme but this time, I’m a week behind schedule! :s Without further ado, here we go!

1. Body Wash

The Body Shop’s (TBS) Passion Fruit Shower Gel with Dr. Bronner’s Magic Peppermint Soap! I usually purchase TBS’ Shower Gels when they go on sale and I vaguely remember paying £2.50 for this if I’m not wrong. Dr. Bronner’s on the other hand is one of my favourite soaps as it lathers up beautifully even though not much is used! I do not find Dr. Bronner drying but the boyfriend claims it turns his skin scaly. Hmm!

2. Skin Moisturiser

Clarins Body Cream, L’occitane’s 100% Shea Butter, The Body Shop’s Almond Body Butter. The Clarins Body Cream came with my Eau Ressourcante Fragrance and I like using it in summer as this is one of my lighter body moisturisers. L’occitane’s 100% Shea Butter is incredibly thick and greasy and I only use it on dry bits eg. elbows, knees and back. The Body Shop’s Almond Body Butter is used as an all-over body moisturiser. These 3 products are what I currently use but my favourite all rounder is the Astral Cream which isn’t in the photo as I’m currently out of it!

3. Hair Treatment / Conditioner

My hair has been in a little bit of a mess since running out of my HG L’occitane conditioner but these 3 items are a godsend for me! L’occitane’s Hair serum for dry/damaged hair works very well on damp hair, not so on dry as it tends to make your hair look greasy so buyers beware! I use Aveda’s Brilliant Damage Control spray prior to blow drying my hair as this product helps protect my hair from thermal and UV damage as well as reduce breakage for all hair types. The lastest addition to my collection, L’oreal’s Mythic Oil Milk. Smells lovely and leaves my hair soft, shiny and smooth without weighing it down!

4. Perfume

I’m not big on fragrance, and these two bottles were a gift from the boyfriend over the years. I also have a bottle of Chloe’s perfume but the silver edges of the bottle have tarnished hence, not very picture friendly. ;) I do not wear perfume on a daily basis and thanks to this meme I’m going to try wearing them everyday! =)

Now, I know this is meant to be a 5 photo meme with the final one being other body care items you use! I already featured my sunscreen in the previous meme and since I did promise a FOTD in this post, I thought why not post it here! ;)

I doubt this even counts as a FOTD as I barely have any make up on. Here’s what I used:

1. MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer in NC15

2. Guerlain Perles D’Azur Meteorites

3. Guerlain Rouge Automatique in Nuit d’Amour (lightly dabbed on, worn as a stain)

4. Guerlain Terracotta Gloss in Porto Azzurro

I didn’t apply any foundation or blush as my skin was looking happy on the day I took this photo and I felt I should place more emphasis on the lips! Okay you caught me out on this one… I should have at least applied some eyeshadow / mascara or even eye liner but I was too lazy to doll up. Besides, why doll up when it wouldn’t make much of a difference? =D

A little on the lips: This is what Nuit d’Amour looks like when worn full-on, just to give you an idea on how warm the lip colour looks. The lip colour takes on a cooler and more wearable tone for everyday use when a thin layer of Porto Azzurro’s applied over the top.

As for the surprise…. A teeny flash giveaway is in the works to thank all of you for being lovely readers so do stay tuned as this giveaway is not going to be open for very long! ;)

Have a lovely day everyone and Happy Friday! =)
