Bourjois Touche Healthy Mix Illuminating Brush Concealer 61 Beige Clair

Click pen concealers / highlighters!! I love them for their ease of use but loathe them as sometimes the brush can be wonky, and the fact that bacteria tends to settle into the unwashed bristles puts me off a little!

Then again, nearly every drugstore / pharmacy brand has been producing their very own version of YSL’s Touche Eclat, as I like to call them.

I just had to pick up Bourjois’ Touche Healthy Mix brush concealer. I just had to. At £6.99 (RM35-ish) you can’t quite go wrong with it! After all it did have two of my favourite things in its name: Bourjois (duh) and Healthy Mix (favourite pharmacy brand foundation’s name) so I thought it couldn’t be that bad!

Dior Diorskin Nude Foundation 011 review

I don’t know where to start with this foundation! The boyfriend got this this in December last year when we were in Penang. It was, he claims, an early, and the only Christmas gift I’ll be getting from him. I, on the other hand called it an “everyday gift,” much to his dismay. ;)

The Diorskin Nude foundation has been reformulated, and boy am I glad I waited for this to appear on the shelves before taking the plunge!

March Favourites!

What better to follow up after an Empties post with a monthly favourites? ;)

Last month, has been what I call a very “hot” month. With a ton of speculations on when the elections will be held right down to me suffering from a serious case of heat rash thanks to the extremely crazy weather, here's what I've been loving to keep cool!

I've been trying to go natural as it's so hot and my oily skin tends to make foundation slide off my face. I'm also trying my hardest not to use too much of my favourite MUFE HD primer as I'm running out!

Femme Boulevard December: Ushering 2013 in Style!

Hello lovelies! I hope all of you have had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to the new year! I for one am extremely excited about the new year and I will let you in on why in a bit. Meanwhile, allow me to introduce you to today’s post!

Yours truly has been given the opportunity to participate in a Femme Boulevard post! Femme Boulevard is a monthly column written by three fabulous bloggers: Joey , Lily, and Teri. For the month of December, the three lovelies decided to open their column to all us beauty bloggers out to join in the New Year festivities and so here I am, attempting to do something totally out of my comfort zone!

The theme of today’s look is metallic / shiny lids with vampy / bold lips. Imagine my slight horror when I read those words as I have never really worn bold lips out nor have I worn metallic lids very much. Thankfully, it can be an editorial, wearable look or “anything, as long as you have fun doing it” qoute Lily. ;)

I chose my look based on something wearable as I will be attend a cousin’s wedding early January 2013, the main reason on why I am so excited about starting the new year!

Onto this wearable look! Here are the products I used to create the look:

Products used to create Femme Boulevard December 2012 look

As I will be wearing a teal dress (either the one featured in this post or another) to the wedding, I thought I’d match my eyeshadow with my dress. I then dug out my Guerlain Les Ombres de Nuit 4 -Colour Palette from Guerlain’s Christmas 2011 collection. The look also requires vampy lips and I immediately thought of the Guerlain Nuit d’Amour Rouge Automatique from the same Christmas collection!

Here’s a list of the other products I used:

1. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in 51

2. Creme de La Mer The Radiant Concealer in Light

3. K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner 24h Waterproof in Black

4. No7 Nude Lip Liner

5. Shiseido Perfect Mascara Defining Volume

6. Guerlain Terracotta La Selection De L’ete

7. Guerlain Blush 4 Eclats Rose Plein Vert 05

8. Guerlain Rouge Shine Automatique in Altoum

9. Shu Uemura Hard Formula Brow Pencil in 05 Stone Grey

And… Here’s the look!

Femme Boulevard December 2012 shiny lids

Pardon the peeling nose, I’ve just recovered from a full-blown cold but my nose has not ceased shedding its skin just yet!

Onto the face first, I used Bourjois’ Healthy Mix foundation as it’s more moisturising and it’s yellow undertones really help conceal the redness around my nose and cheek area. My skin has also been dry of late so this is a go-to for evenings out! A light dusting of blush went with the look as I didn’t want to take any attention away from my eyes / lips. An attempt to contour went in too with the Guerlain bronzer but it doesn’t really show up in the photos.

For the eyes! I first applied a thin layer of the shimmering grey shade all over the lids. Then I took the blackened blue shade and applied it on the outer lids, slowly working it into my crease. I layered on the colours slowly and carefully as I wanted all shades to blend well together. The lighter teal shade was used on the middle of both lids and blended out. The key to this look? Blend, blend and blend some more! I dabbed some of the shimmering grey eyeshadow on the corner of my eyes to make them pop a little.

As this look will be worn in the evening, I brought some of the blackened blue shade down under the outer corner of my eyes and blended that out with the teal and grey shades, working my way to the inner corners of my eyes.

The eyes were tightlined with the K-Palette eyeliner, a gift from my soulmate who with Lily introduced me into the world of eyeliners. =) As usual, I then curled my eyelashes with my trusty Shu Uemura lash curlers and lashings of the Shiseido mascara went through them. Brows were lightly filled with the Shu Uemura Brow Pencil.

Finally, I lined and filled in my lips with the No7 Nude lip liner before applying the Guerlain Nuit d’Amour Rouge Automatique with a lip brush onto my lips. Upon applying the shade I felt it could do with a little shine so I slicked on a layer of Guerlain’s Altoum Shine Automatique but it’s barely visible, even in real life. Guess I shouldn’t have bothered with it. =p

I tried my very best to take photos without me looking really silly but I guess I am not photogenic at all. Sigh. I’ll let the photos do the talking.

This one, I took in hope of showcasing the eyes without looking weird. Succeeded in the eye department, failed in terms of looking weird.

Then there’s this shot. A family member mentioned I bear an uncanny resemblance to The Joker.

Femme Boulevard December 2012 New Year look

Do you think the look meets the shiny / bold look? The look’s nothing metallic as I can’t bring myself to wear such a bold eye out but the shine gives my eyes more depth. The deep plummy lips  seems to breathe a new lease of life into an otherwise boring matchy eye and dress look. What say you?

Do not forget to check out what the other ladies think! =D

I have something rather exciting coming up in the next few days so be sure to stay tuned! ;)

July Favourites!

Fresh from my 5 favourite Makeup / Skincare products post, I thought I’d add to the list with my favourite products from last month that I have been constantly reaching out for. So here we go!

As quickly as July went by for me, it didn’t go by without its fair share of glitches! My eye sacks weren’t getting any better and I ran out of my favourite L’occitane hair conditioner. The cheeky me then decided maybe it would be a great idea to try out a different one but well, that turned my hair to straw. In comes the first favourite product of the month:

1. Kerastase’s Elixir Ultime

I put off purchasing this for the longest time due to its hefty price tag (about £35 if I’m not mistaken) and thought it would be a better idea to try a slightly cheaper version but apparently as good L’oreal’s Mythic Oil. Mistake number one, I purchased the Milk version of L’oreal’s Mythic Oil and mistake number two is that I found that it didn’t work that well at soothing my frizzy hair. In desperation I purchased this and having used this for over 2 weeks now it’s become part of my everyday hair routine and I haven’t been happier. =)

2. Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve

Yet another product I reached out for in desperation, I’ve taken such a huge liking to this that I’ve been using this at least twice a day: in the morning before I head out and at night before I head to bed. This is saying a lot as I am not fond of using hand creams. Being the person who only reaches out for creams when in need this is saying quite a bit about the product!

3. Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation

I used this foundation nearly everyday in the month of July. I just love how it feels and stays on my skin without caking or sliding off especially in the humid weather.

4. Laura Mercier’s Secret Camouflage Concealer in SC-2

I like how this covers imperfections like nothing else and once it’s there it stays there. However, I struggle with getting the right shade! On me, the yellow is too dark and the salmony shade is too pink and sometimes when I mix the colours i get the correct shade sometimes I don’t. Which is something I don’t quite appreciate especially when you are pressed for time. Am still learning how to work with this but boy does this product conceal like nothing else that I’ve tried, at least!

5. NARS 413 BLKR Eye Shadow

Remember this post? Funny how a review on a product that went up on my blog on the 31st of July made it into my July Favourites post just a couple of days later! =D I actually got my hands on Lhasa and 413 BLKR early July but I spent a couple of weeks playing with them before reviewing them and I’m glad I did before this Favourites post went up! I am not featuring Lhasa in my favourites because I have developed some kind of obsession with the 413 BLKR and I find myself reaching out for this every morning as I quickly buff some of this onto my eyelid sans primer with the Sigma E25 blending brush I received from Lily. (psst she’s just celebrated her birthday and is hosting a huge giveaway please go and wish her and better still, let her know I sent you over so she may just give me that lush looking Tendertone! =p ) Okay I’m back from that digression, do pardon me as I do have a tendency to go off topic in one too many ways. ;) So yes, I have oily lids and most, if not all powder eyeshadows that I’ve tried crease on me.

All but NARS. Once applied, they sit happily on my eyelids, do not budge other than fade just a little towards the end of the day and do not crease! I am now looking into getting more NARS Eyeshadows, maybe their eyeshadow duos as they just seem to agree with my oily lids!

6. Canmake Cream Cheek in 05

I have a confession to make: I have been using this because I have been too lazy to wash my blush brushes. :s Yes been a little slack with the brush-washing routine off late so I’ve been using this more than ever! It’s ever so easy to apply, blends like a dream and stays exactly where you applied them. I have not been reaching out for blushes as much as I usually do as my skin has been quite red due to the heat and the fact that I’d much rather spend a few more minutes in bed rather than applying makeup contributes to my not wearing blush. =D But I do love Canmake’s Cream Cheeks and they make a good travelling companion as they just fit into just about anywhere and do a really good job at making your cheeks look like you’ve got a healthy flush of colour!

What are your July favourites? I would love to hear from you! =) Happy Monday everyone!

Saturday Meme: 5 Holy Grail Skincare / Makeup products!

edit: This post has been delayed by one day due to unforeseen circumstances. ;)

I try my very best to refrain from using the term Holy Grail (HG) because what I consider HG now may not be a HG item for me a couple of months down the line.

In this week’s Saturday Meme, Steph and I decided to bring together our 5 favourite, or Holy Grail if you like makeup and skincare products into one post!

Compiling my top 5 products was tough so what I did was brought out items that have been put to good use on my dresser over the last year or so! Please bear in mind that some products on this Holy Grail list may change over time as I like trying new products out and the blog would be dead should I stick to repurchasing these 5 products over and over! ;)

I shall start this week’s Meme with the one skincare product that I have been repurchasing over the last 3 years. I go through a plethora of skincare products but this is the one product that always sits on my dresser:

1. Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Advance Face Serum

This product comes in two sizes – 30ml and 50ml. I have recently used up my 50ml bottle and coincidentally this 30ml bottle was a gift from the fabulous lady behind Beaute Fabuleuse. I like this because it’s non-oily, does not break me out and did help with the severe redness I suffer from but I kind of feel that it’s stopped working for me as I still suffer from redness although it isn’t as bad as before. I know it’s a skin thing and I can’t expect a product to perform a miracle and take my redness away but I wish the Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief serum would do just that little bit more. =p

2. Shiseido’s Perfect UV Protector SPF50+ PA+++

Sunscreen has always been a must-have for me and this one has achieved Holy Grail status due to it’s light, watery texture and the fact that I never burn or tan when I have a layer of this on my skin. This is one incredible product that I will repurchase over and over.

3. Facial Sprays! Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir and Vichy’s Eau Thermal Spray

I am cheekily featuring two products here because I love facial sprays and they both have a special place on my dresser for different reasons lol! First up, Vichy’s Eau Thermal Spray has been a constant feature in my Bottoms Up series and I have been through many a can of these thermal spa water sprays. Mum always says that it’s only water and instead of spending so much on ‘French water’ as she calls it, I might as well purchase an empty spray bottle and fill it up with Malaysian tap water haha! From my point of view, this just softens my skin and doesn’t leave it feeling parched! It also preps my skin for toner and as my face is already damp I noticed I do not use as much toner / serum / moisturiser as I used to which can only mean this is a good thing! =D

Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir on the other hand is infused with essential oils and is more than water. I bought my Mum a bottle of this to entice her over to the dark side and she loves it! =p On some mornings if time seems to be moving faster than my hands I use this as a facial spray + toner but other than that this is used as a ‘sealant’ whereby I spritz it onto my face as a final step in my skincare routine! I usually have early starts to the day and this really helps drag me out of my usual zombie-mode! My body and mind is always set to auto-pilot mode the very instant I wake up: I head to the loo, brush teeth wash face ease myself before walking to the kitchen to put the kettle to boil, pop some raw porridge and milk into the microwave and time it to 3 minutes before walking back to my room to get dressed and apply skincare. This is what I do every single day if work beckons so spritzing the Beauty Elixir on just freshens me up instantly!

4. Bourjois Foundations!

Bourjois foundations were my very first pharmacy branded foundation purchases and I have never looked back since. To date, they are the only pharmacy / drugstore brand foundations I have ever used because they do quite a good range of differeny foundations with varying textures / finishes so I never felt the need to head towards another drugstore / pharmacy brand! Foundation is extremely important to me because a huge part of my face will be covered in it and the last thing I want is for it to clog my pores or God forbid, break me out! I own quite a few Bourjois foundations and have reviewed them here and all I can say is that they are amazing and please give them a go if you haven’t done so already! I have been reaching out for their newest 123 Perfect foundation on a daily basis as Summer seems to bring out the worst in my skin and this really tones down the redness and stays on my combination / oily skin! Healthy Mix, on the other hand is a great foundation that gives you a satin finish but oilier skins would benefit from wearing a primer underneath as this foundation does have a tendency to slid off my skin in warmer weather! But the 123 Perfect foundation is just perfect for summer. =D

5. Guerlain Lipsticks

I am happy to go out sans foundation but ever since I discovered the joy of wearing lipstick I always make it a point to slick some on before leaving the house just because it makes me feel better when I do so. =) Having been lucky enough to have popped my lipstick cherry with a Rouge G, I have since went on to expand my lipstick collection with Guerlain. As pricey as they are, they are moisturising, have good colour pay off and I am aware that some of their shades can be slightly on the sheer side but I am not into lipsticks that are extremely pigmented (hello, MAC) but into those that wear comfortably on the lips and actually compliment my skintone / look of the day. The luxurious, head-turning packaging makes my day everytime I look at them too and I have a feeling Guerlain’s lippies will be on my HG list for a very long time to come. Then again I have not tried the much raved about Dior Lipsticks BUT! I own a Chanel Rouge Coco Shine and I must say that even that cannot compare to the quality of my very much beloved Rouge Gs, or my lone Rouge Automatique in the above photo. At £29.50 for the Rouge Gs and £24.50 for the Rouge Automatiques it does seem like an exorbitant sum but one believes one must treat oneself! =p

There you have it, my 5 Holy Grail Skincare / Makeup products! What are yours? If you have a blog and would like to re-post this please let the lovely Steph and I know as we love placing our noses into ones Holy Grail list as who knows if we’d find a new Holy Grail product for ourselves! Meanwhile, head over to Beaute Fabuleuse and check out Steph’s 5 Holy Grail products! =D

How I do my everyday make up!

I’ve always toyed with the idea of showing you my ‘everyday make up look’ and have drafted this post eons ago but somehow…. My fingers seem to evade the ‘Publish’ button each time I edit this post and it chooses ‘Save’ instead.

=D

Unlike most beauty bloggers and ladies who do take pride in their appearance and make a lot of effort to look good before heading out of the house e.g. apply lashings of mascara, eye shadow, contour face, pencil in their brows etc….

This self-professed beauty blogger nearly always heads out of her home bare faced (well, nearly) so I’ve always been a little wary of what your response would be upon reading this post!

*takes deep breath*

I’ve never been good at art back in school, which explains the absence of colour on my eyelids. Having shaky hands, of course is yet another contributing factor to my naked lids but I’m still learning how to do my eye make up properly! =)

Most of the time, I usually do my make up in the morning and do not retouch until the evening so I like keeping my make up simple as:

simple make up = less risk of your make up turning you into a panda-eyed monster by the end of the evening. =D

That, my ladies is my somewhat fool proof make up mantra! for now until i perfect the art of make up, at least!

My daily make up routine consists of these steps:

1. Cleanse, tone, moisturize

2. Apply sunscreen

3. Apply primer (a newly acquired step that I find really helps hold everything together!)

4. A bit of foundation where my skin needs it (nose, mouth area and sometimes cheeks if they are red, blotchy and angry-looking)

*5. Apply highlighter (A recent addition since I discovered the amazing brush that is the Sigma E50. Thank you, Lily!)

6. Apply cream blush. Because it stays put for the rest of the day and goes on easily!

*7. Tightline eyes and get poked in the eye most of the time

*8. Fill in my brows (Thank you, Paris!)

9. Dust loose powder all over to set make up.

10. Apply Lipstick / Lipgloss / Lip Butter.

*Steps that are newly added into my routine and are considered as ‘Special Occasion Extras‘ but I am planning to incorporate them into my permanent Everyday Make Up routine!

Ready to see the end result? ;)

=)
Pardon ‘em eye bags and blemishes that are peeking out! I am not a fan of concealing imperfections although I do use concealer for zits of epic proportions.
Here are the products I used!

1. Sunscreen – Kose Sun Protector SPF50 PA+++

2. Primer – MUFE HD Primer

4. Highlighter - Lancome’s Eclat Miracle

5. Cream Blush – Canmake’s Cream Cheek in #11 Heavenly Heart

6. Eye Liner – Canmake’s Lasting Creamy Liner in 01 Black

7. Eye Brow Pencil – Shu Uemura Hard Formula Brow Pencil

8. Powder - Guerlain Meteorites in Teint Rose

I hope you liked this post! What’s your everyday look like? Do tell!! =D

Pssstt!!! Have you joined my GIVEAWAY yet? ;)

Comparison post: Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation 51, Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation 51 and Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in B10

I love every single beauty product of mine that I’ve amassed over the last few months in the UK but due to luggage weight restrictions, I could only carry the creme de la creme of my beauty stash! Foundation wise, I packed 3 (yes, I know I’m crazy) and they are the
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation
+___+
In defense, I *technically* packed only two good foundations, them being the Healthy Mix Foundation and Chanel as they are tried, tested and proven foundation favourites! As I only bagged the Healthy Mix Serum foundation just before leaving the UK, I ended up lugging this one along in my hand carry clear bag as there simply wasn’t any space left in the check-in bag for this!
Nevertheless, these precious little ones arrived on Malaysian shores safely! =D I am incredibly glad I packed them along as they aren’t available here so thank goodness for that!
Let’s get on with the review, shall we? ;)
Company Literature:
1. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
- Promises 16 hours of perfectly glowing complexion and toned skin with fruit therapy to boost radiance. Fruits included are Apricots, Melons, Apples and Ginger.
2. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation
- Also boasts 16 hours’ wear, with a radiance-boosting formula for an even, revived complexion. Provides instant anti-fatigue complexion with their vitamin-rich fruit therapy. Fruits included are Pomegranates, Lychees and Goji Berries.
3. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation
- Ultra-light Skin Perfecting Makeup that comes with SPF15. Acts as ‘second skin’ with its new-generation texture even though it’s exceptionally delicate and light. Upon application, it’s as though you are ‘glowing from within and are bathed in light’.
My thoughts:
Chanel has got the most creative, hyperbolific (yes that’s a made-up-word) team of writers. Who on earth would think of the phrase ‘bathed in light’ for a foundation?! The Bourjois Foundations are not only similar in name, literature and right down to the ingredients used. The only difference are the fruits used in their ‘vitamin-rich fruit therapy’.

Packaging:
1. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
- Pump bottle, can see how much you’ve used up through this plate thingy that pushes the foundation up each time you use it. Handy and less wastage this way.

2. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation
- Foundation’s housed in a sleek plastic bottle (well some people think it’s glass but I find it a little too light to be glass) with a pump. Can’t see how much you’ve used up due to the absence of that plate thingy (gosh I gotta find out what it’s called!)

3. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua
- Comes in a squeezy rectangular bottle with a spout.
My thoughts:
I really like the sleek packaging of the Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation but I prefer the Healthy Mix Foundation’s mechanism where nearly every drop of foundation is pumped out. I foresee it will be slightly messy when it comes to getting the remnants of the Serum foundation out! I love the simple, minimalist design of the Chanel foundation as its rectangular shape and compact size makes it a joy to carry around!

Scent:
1. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
- Rather heavily scented. Smells more floral than fruity. Thankfully the scent disappears upon application.
2. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation
- Heavily scented though this seems to smell fruity. I always get a whiff of lychee each time I apply this and it makes me crave lychees! :s
3. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation
- According to Chanel, this foundation has a ‘crystalline fragrance that accentuates the sensation of freshness and pleasure upon application.’ Quite true, I have to say as this smells really posh. =p
My thoughts:
I do find fragranced products a pain, at times but I’m willing to overlook this as these three foundations are the best that I’ve tried! (not that I’ve tried many foundations and I’m looking to change that) All three are heavily scented and I have to say I can’t pick a favourite scent as they all smell divine! =D

Colour:
1. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
- I have this in Shade 51, Vanille Clair where it is a yellow-based foundation with a slight grey hue to it.
2. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation
- I also have this product in Shade 51, Vanille Clair where it too is a yellow-based foundation with a slight grey hue to it. However, this foundation is SLIGHTLY DARKER and MORE YELLOW than the Healthy Mix Foundation.
3. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation
- I have this in B10 Beige Pastel. Extremely yellow-based foundation with slight orange undertones. This is the darkest foundation amongst the three.
My thoughts:
The Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation is the best match for my skin tone although the difference is barely visible with the Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation. This Chanel foundation somehow has the properties of a BB cream where it has the ability to adapt to your skin tone to a certain extent, methinks. The swatch on my arm seems a little orange and quite a lot darker than the Bourjois foundations but when it goes on my face the difference isn’t that obvious so I’m happily overlooking that! =D

Texture:
1. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
- Creamy and slightly thick and incredibly easy and fool-proof to apply be it with your fingers or a brush.
2. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation
- Watery texture, slightly harder to blend and takes longer to sink into the skin due to the texture.
3. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation
- (bottle needs to be shaked well so the foundation’s mixed properly before use) Creamy and fast-drying texture where it just disappears into your skin so quickly that no one would notice you’re using any base make-up!
My thoughts:
Chanel wins hands down in terms of texture. The foundation kinda dries to a powdery finish but it’s not the kind of matte powdery finish you get with some oil-controlling foundations! The only downside to this is that you need to work the product into your skin quickly as it dries up rather quick. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation comes in second as the texture is similar to the Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, only creamier and the finish is rather dewy. The Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation is not recommended if you are in a rush as this takes a while to sink into your skin and I found the watery texture a little difficult to work with!

Coverage + Finish:
1. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
- Medium coverage, buildable. This gives a dewy finish and is non-cakey.
2. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation
- Sheer – Medium coverage, buildable too. The finish is slightly more natural (due to the watery texture, I assume) than the Healthy Mix Foundation and isn’t as dewy as the latter.
3. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation
- Sheer – Medium coverage, incredibly lightweight and natural-looking finish. Not dewy nor matte but leaves the wearer with an amazingly smooth and porcelain complexion.
My thoughts:
Definitely the Chanel foundation for this category as the technology behind this product is simply mind-boggling! I simply cannot understand how this just disappears into my skin, making it look oh-so natural as though I do not have a single bit of make up on! Finish wise, the Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation comes close to the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua as this also leaves the skin looking really natural though the coverage isn’t as good as Chanel’s. The Healthy Mix foundation is the one I wear if I’m having an evening out and I want fuller coverage.

Overall thoughts:
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua wins hands down in my opinion even though the shade is a little off for me. The texture of this foundation is simply extraordinary and it has never disappointed me in terms of wear (non-cakey, non-streaky etc.) so this is the best in my opinion!

Then again, I suppose it isn’t really fair if I compared a high-end foundation to drugstore ones so I’ve chosen an overall winner, taking the price tag into consideration. I feel the Healthy Mix Foundation is a good overall foundation as it’s easy to apply (just like Chanel), blends really well and the shade suits me well! Of course, at £10 / RM50 for 30ml you can’t get any better than that!

The Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation has its plus points too as I find this the most value for money foundation as you only need so very little to even out your skin tone! I am always extra careful with this foundation as pumping out too much would result in me having to wait quite a while before the foundation sinks into my skin. When this happens, I usually wipe the excess foundation off with tissue and this can add up to quite a waste of product so be extra careful when pumping the foundation out!

All three foundations have their positives (and negatives) so I cannot really say I dislike any of them! Even though I find the Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation a pain when it comes to settling into my skin, I find myself reaching out for this on most days (nearly everyday as I’ve been going out everyday) as I love the sheer and natural finish this foundation provides! I don’t use the Healthy Mix Foundation as much as I find the coverage a little heavy for my liking.

Okay, before I confuse all of you any further, I’ve summarized how I use these foundations:

Everyday: Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation

Evenings (when I’m doing a more ‘dramatic’ and polished look): Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

For special occasions or when I want to look like I haven’t got any make up on (eg. seeing the bf’s parents): Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation

I hope this helps anyone who’s looking at getting a Bourjois / Chanel foundation and are looking at how they differ from each other! =)
