Heya, it’s that time of the month again! Did not use up as many products as I hoped to this month, but August should be a better month! At time of writing, I have quite a few almost empties. 😉
July hasn’t been too bad a month, more ups than downs. And I’ve *finally* managed to let things go. On a more random note, I picked up a few supplements from iHerb (get US$5 off your first order here) and will share them with you if they actually work. Lol!
On to the empties!
1. Ryo Jayangmunmo Anti-Hair Loss Shampoo for Oily Scalp
It took me 4 months to use this up, and it has now secured a place in my bathroom. For as long as I can get my hands on this. As I haven’t been very well, I’ve been prescribed a cocktail of medication… And they come with side effects.
My hair started falling out… Strands would just come off when I lightly brush my hair with my fingers, then the nightmare started. I started losing clumps of hair. This happened sometime in March, and I frantically searched for an alternative (was using Kerastase at that time).
I found this, placed an order, was not put off by the brown, goopy and hanbangy (that’s traditional medicine) scent… And promptly fell in love. My scalp is no longer an oil slick, hair no longer falls out in clumps and even Paul* thinks it’s making his hair look thicker!
Tempted to try it? Here’s a cheeky link to my small store where you can buy it to try, if you like!
2. Shiseido Perfect Watery Oil
Remember when Paul* came home with a huge bag of these? I’m still going through them, albeit slowly. I love this range of cleansing oils, and they cleanse thoroughly without breaking me out. I may have mentioned this many times before, but I do not have an issue with mineral oil as it doesn’t clog pores. And yes, I have photosensitive, reactive skin and mineral oil does not irritate my skin. At all.
3. Origins Gloomaway Grapefruit Body Souffle
Found myself in the “second home” again last month, and this really helped brighten my mood. Even slathered this on my arms before entering the OT – went in for only a minor procedure, and that had nothing to do with my arms – and the scent provided comfort when the cold, hard steel bed in the OT did not.
4. SK-II Facial Treatment Repair C
Have mentioned this many times before, and it still stands as one of my best emergency skincare products. Mum – bless her! – finally brought over a replacement bottle after having run out of this in early July. Check out an old blog post on this here.
5. MV Skincare Rose Plus Booster
This restored my faith in facial oils! I love all things MV, and it is the main brand that turned my crazy pre-wedding skin back to life! This is an expired bottle, and I did not feel comfortable using it on my face. So… for the last couple of months, my body was treated to this oil, mixed with spritzes of water / Mario Badescu’s Rosewater Spray. MV Skincare is a brand I’m incredibly fond of, and as I find myself moving deeper into discovering K-beauty, I sometimes stop and wonder if I should repurchase this and the following item:
6. MV Skincare Rose Soothing and Protective Moisturiser
One of the best moisturisers I’ve ever tried. And a little goes an extremely long way this this. I don’t even use one pump of product per use, and of course, it expired before I could use this up. Onto my body it went, and my arms and legs have never felt softer!
Am happy to say that July’s empties are firm favourites! What were your July Empties? =)
