What’s In My Bathroom? Hair Edition #6 – L’occitane Aromachologie Repairing Conditioner

I was trawling my archives and mentally kicked myself for not having reviewed this product. The L’occitane Aromachologie Repairing Conditioner has been in my bathroom for YEARS. At least 10 years. More than 10 years. I can’t believe I never spoke about it. But it’s better late than never, right? And I’ve been through quite a few “upgrades”, and still stuck with the brand even though they’ve tweaked the formula here and there.

After using this for so long, I’ve finally found something better, but I won’t go into detail here. Let’s focus on this wonderful product that kept my hair in check all these years!

This conditioner is formulated for dry, damaged hair. I always go for stronger conditioners as I have long hair and over the years, my locks have taken quite the beating – I dye my hair quite regularly, and I even got a perm before the wedding… adding to the damage my hair already suffers.

The one thing I love about L’occitane is their packaging. The colours!! And extra bonus points goes to them for producing refill packs! Nothing makes me happier when I know I’m able to contribute towards saving the environment (ahem) and being able to save a few bucks as refill packages cost less!

L’occitane claims this new formula contains an anti-breakage complex made with five essential oils – ylang ylang, sweet orange, lavender, geranium, angelica – and plant-derived acids, which help repair the hair fibre. It’s also silicone-free, and Vitamin B5 helps to smooth, soften and protect the hair.

My family and I are huge fans of L’occitane products. Be it hair or body, the inclusion of essential oils in their products make every shower a delight. The Aromachologie Repairing Conditioner smells delightful, and the scent does linger after a shower. I love how it softens my hair and detangles it so well that I never need to brush my hair after a shower. It’s a wonderful product that smoothens the hair without the inclusion of silicones, which has a tendency to weigh hair down.

If you are looking for a nice conditioner that softens and smoothens the hair, this is the one for you. But, I had to move away from the lovely product as my hair was getting far too damaged for this, it wasn’t nourishing my hair enough. I’m in the midst of “repairing” my hair with another conditioner at the moment, and am looking forward to going back to this once my original hair condition has been restored.

Have you tried any L’occitane products? What are your favourites?
