Shiseido Perfect UV Protector SPF50+ PA++++ WetForce Has Landed In Malaysia!

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to take a break from my “What’s In My Bathroom?” series as I present you… An upgraded version of my ultimate HG sunscreen… Shiseido’s Perfect UV Protector… Now with WetForce!

Shiseido Perfect UV Protector Wetforce

I have mum to thank for this!! She was out shopping just day before yesterday and she spotted this “blue bottled thingy you mentioned isn’t available in Malaysia yet” and bought it for me!!!!

If you are new to this space, I’m a huge fan of sunscreen as I burn easily and the original Shiseido Perfect UV Protector has been the only (okay, I did stray… once. Story for another day) face sunscreen I’ve used for over three years now. Check out my review of the original product here.

Mum bought the promo set, which costs RM159. I’m not sure how the sunscreen costs if you were to purchase it alone. With it came deluxe-sized samples of Shiseido’s White Lucent cleanser, softener, serum,  emulsion / moisturiser and a little tube of their Ultimune serum (or is it a pre-serum?)

But guys, place all your focus on the new sunscreen, please! This is an upgrade from the original, which is really amazing so I have high hopes for this little one!

Shiseido’s sunscreens have this SuperVeil-UV technology, which allows the product to adhere evenly to the skin’s surface, providing effective protection no matter which angle the UV rays come from. Now, on top of that, they have added the WetForce technology, which reinforces the protective veil when it comes into contact with water or sweat.

Formulated with a stabilised form of Ionic Mineral Sensor, which contains negative ions, they bond with water (positive ions) to create a highly water-repellant layer.

Okay, I got all the information from the Shiseido US website and it’s pretty cool, huh?

I’m in no way athletic, I don’t go swimming nor do I work up a sweat in the outdoors, but I’m still excited about this because the colour of the packaging is pretty!!!

Here’s a photo of the new and old Perfect UV Protectors:

Shiseido Perfect UV Perfector WetForce vs Perfect UV Protector

I admit, I’ll miss the iridescence of the white packaging, but that blue is just gorgeous. I wore the new sunscreen all day yesterday, and I’ve got to say the product does apply a little more matte than the original version; colour of the product remains the same, watery with a slight pink tinge.

And I must say, it kept my face relatively matte for over 4 hours, which leads me to believe this is more superior to the original. Then again, it’s far too early to tell! Let me try this out for the next couple of weeks and I will be back with a review, and a possible smackdown of the old vs new. What do you think of that?

Have you seen this at your local counters? I think the sunscreen used to cost RM135 (before GST) so this shouldn’t cost more than RM150 if bought alone!

But since Shiseido’s currently running this in a promo gift set, I’d say pay a little extra for those goodies if your skin can tolerate the White Lucent range. I am a fan of Shiseido cleansers, and I still have a few deluxe-sized cleansers waiting to be used as they go such a long way. I also like that they have swapped out the heavy glass bottles for plastic ones as this makes them a lot more travel friendly.

Will you be giving this a go or have you already tried it? Let me know!

Ok I need to go check this out! I’ve been straying from the UV Protector because I’ve been testing other products but I think it’s time to go back to it. I need this Wet Force technology!
