By the time you read this, I'm probably all checked into the hospital and awaiting surgery. I've got a bit of a complex condition going on and am struggling to cope with all the implications involved. Thankfully with blogging, I find a bit of normality here with all these scheduled posts as I'm currently downing muscle relaxants and painkillers to nearly no end.
Being an excessive packer, I did my best to “pack light” for this trip. It will be my second stay at the hospital in a span of… six days. It will be a slightly longer stay too, but fret not for I've got all things covered. =)
I'm using this LeSportsac Every Girl Tote in Cozy Print – a birthday present from a friend:
Let's start with the pleated front compartment!
From left: L'occitane Relaxing Pillow Mist, Watsons Lavender Scented Wet Tissues, Creme de La Mer Lip Balm, Jo Malone Nectarine Blosssom and Honey Cologne.
Important stuff, these ones! I'm thankful the hospital I'm at doesn't have that overly sterile, sickening scent. Having trouble sleeping isn't something new to me so the L'occitane Relaxing Pillow Mist helps set the mood (no candles allowed in my hospital room I'm afraid) and I'm able to sleep a little better. The Creme de La Mer Lip Balm is a must have for me as I have chapped lips. I never seem to be able to use this one up. +__+
Wet Tissues are for me to wipe down surfaces, bed rails and whatnot. Jo Malone's Nectarine Blossom and Honey Cologne is for me to smell nice, of course!
Moving on to what's in the main compartment:
Two bags, a whole lot of cotton pads and two beauty products that just wouldn't fit into the two bags.
Starting with the contents in the butterfly drawstring bag. There's quite a lot of stuff in this bag so I've separated the two items into two photos for your viewing pleasure. =p
I'm trying to use up the Seikisho Cleansing Oil (review here) and even though I'm not wearing makeup at the hospital, I still wear sunscreen so double cleansing is still necessary. Sanctuary Spa's Body Wash is refreshing and invigorating, I'm hoping this will lift my hopes up a little. Bioderma Crealine Micellaire water for times when I'm unable to get out of bed but still want clean skin. Yes, judge me if you like but I hate looking greasy and sickly even if I'm a patient. Bio-Oil for moisture. I'm very taken by this product, it sinks into the skin so quickly and leaves my skin feeling soft. Kiehl's Amino Acid Shampoo and L'occitane's Conditioner for Dry hair have been a staple in my bathroom for years now. It would be silly not to take these gems with me.
Onto skin care! I discovered a rather silly find in my Shiseido bag but thought I'd include them in this photo just for fun. =)
From Left: Shiseido Perfect UV Protector, Shiseido UV Protection Liquid Foundation in SP10, SK-II Facial Treatment Essence for Men (oops), Orbis Aquaforce Moisture-M moisturiser, Origins Plantscriptions Eye treatment, SK-II Cellumination Mask-in Lotion, Essence, and SK-II Facial Treatment Clear Lotion and Essence.
Just my usual clear lotion, eye treatment, essence, mask-in-lotion, serum, moisturiser and sunscreen daily routine. I've added the UV Protection Liquid Foundation in as this gives natural coverage without sliding off my face, even without powder. Only for days when I want to look less dead. =D
I suppose you think I'm a little crazy now, haha! But these items work well for me and are stuff I mostly use on a daily basis. Wanting a bit of normality in the midst of all the crazy shit happening isn't too much to ask, is it?
