Review: By Terry Gloss Terrybly Shine in #4 Pink Lover

This is terry-ble! Being a huge fan of By Terry products, I was both sad and glad that I will not be able to replenish my stock as back then it was not (yet) made available in Malaysia.

But what do you know! +__+

One of my favourite brands decided to land on our shores, bringing with it pretty reasonable prices (I'm comparing this with the strong £) and it's pretty easily available for me, with my workplace being a 10-minute drive from Bangsar Village where it's housed!

Lipgloss and I go way back. It's one of my first ever makeup products. I remember my first lipgloss purchase being this Chanel one. I have since slowly moved on to wearing lipsticks but lipgloss will always have a special place in my makeup-filled heart. =)

I know this may seem l ike such a frivolous buy to some of you as many other brands do cheap and good lipglosses… But I do not own that many lipglosses and I've been keeping this in my handbag ever since I got it so it's a pretty justified purchase, no? =D

One main thing to note about By Terry products is its fragrance. That slightly overpowering rose scent would usually put me off but for some reason… This one doesn't.

I'm guessing the scent is overlooked here due to my love for all the By Terry products I've tried!

On to the lipgloss. A bit of marketing jargon here: The product claims to be voluminising, lifting and firming with some age-defence technology but let's face it, we aren't going to purchase a lipgloss if we wanted firm / pouty lips!

All of that aside, this is an amazing gloss. It comes with 7ml of product and at RM126, it sits at the slightly pricier end of the spectrum but it's just Terrybly good. (sorry I couldn't resist!)

Some prefer doe foot applicators (above) and some favour brushes but honestly, it doesn't matter to me. I'm not the kind of girl who meticulously applies lipgloss. The slick on and go approach is what I do best. After all, lipgloss is forgiving. It's not as opaque as lipsticks and all you gotta do is press your lips together and you are good to go.

A word of caution though, By Terry glosses are pretty pigmented. This bright pop of pink (with blue undertone) and the prettiest, iridescent shimmer shows well on my rather pigmented lips.

I never wear a lipstick underneath this as it looks good when worn alone. Here's what it looks like on my arm:

See the shimmer? Don't worry about getting gritty lips with Pink Lover as it gives you nothing but comfortable and well-moisturised lips! This also lasts well on my lips, I get about 3-4 hours' wear if I do not eat and take the occasional sip of water.

This is something I will definitely repurchase as I'm quite fussy with the scent of my lipglosses (absolutely detest coconut / chocolate scented ones) and some lipglosses I've tried turn funky on me in a matter of weeks.

I”ve had this since late last year and it's still going strong. Definitely a keeper for me. If it needs more justification – this has been a staple in my handbag ever since I got it. =p

Do you need it? Yes if you like a little pop of colour with some shine, not disco ball lips.

What are your favourite lipglosses?
