Kose Seikisho Perfect Cleansing Oil

Cleansing oils and I go way back. I just started high school when Mum decided to introduce me to the world of cleansing oils … starting with the world famous Shu Uemura ones.

Thinking back, I may have been too young (and too lazy) to emulsify the oil properly as I broke out real bad from using it and have since shunned cleansing oils.

Until when I was at uni. A kind housemate taught me the correct method of using cleansing oil and I started (on a very cautious note) with the Kose Softymo's cleansing oil range – think Speedy, Deep Cleansing Oils!

Having tried and loved the range, I was about to give their Seikisho Perfect Cleansing Oil a go but a kind friend decided to pass me two deluxe sized samples to try before I take the plunge and purchase a full-sized bottle!

This is my second bottle and I've nearly used it up! I thought I'd stop procrastinating and quickly get this review up before it appears in an “empties” post! 😉

First up, I love runny cleansing oils. I feel they go further than their more viscous counterparts. Having said that, the Seikisho's texture is similar to that of the Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil.

Before I carry on, I would like to note that I have no problems with mineral oil. Please click here for more information on mineral oil. =) The Seikisho Perfect Cleansing Oil has mineral oil on top of its ingredient list, which may put some people off purchasing this product:

I'm not going to decipher the ingredient list as I'm not scientifically inclined, unfortunately but here are my thoughts on this cleansing oil!

This definitely emulsifies quicker than any cleansing oil and removes all traces of waterproof makeup. I'm currently in love with the Heroine Make Long and Curl mascara and it is a pain to remove, so much that my usually trusty Speedy Cleansing Oil leaves me with dark rims under my eyes! But the Seikisho removes everything and leaves my skin feeling comfortable.

Not taut, doesn't leave a sticky film behind. Just smooth, cleansed skin.

Need I say more?

I have been using this for over a month now and my skin's still happy! This is a keeper but I have two more bottles of Speedy to go through (I buy in bulk from Sasa.com) and I've just purchased a bottle of the famous Fancl Cleansing Oil. Have a feeling it's gonna take me a while before I get a full bottle of this, but I can see myself getting there if the others don't work as well as this one! =D

Have you tried this? Do you have any cleansing oils to recommend? 😉

Sounds so good but it has mineral oil and mineral oil likes nothing better then to mess up my skin 🙁

    Such a shame!

Hello Yasumi! Yes, it's a lovely product but not great if your skin doesn't like mineral oil. =( Thank you very much for dropping by! =) xxx

I have a similar problem with cleansing oils! I’m not sure if I’m emulsifying properly. How do you do it? What kind of consistency are you looking for?

Hello! I usually apply the oil (with dry hands) onto the face (dry), massage it in briefly before wetting my hands slightly and then massaging my face again. Once the oil emulsifies into a milky consistency, I rinse my hands and massage my face again. I do this about two to three times before splashing my face with water. I hope that made sense! As for consistency, I prefer runny textures to thick, gloopy ones. Thank you for dropping by! =) xx
