Time for another What’s on My Mind session! It’s been a lot better this month, everything-wise.
Today, I figured I didn’t want to put up a “list of lusts” as I did in last month’s edition because… I have been really blessed with many gifts this month and I myself did buy something I’ve wanted for quite a while now!
I have a collection of really old mechanical watches. All of them were gifts from my parents who love collecting such watches. Sadly, many of them have stopped working and finding someone who is able to fix them is even harder. I went watch-less for a good year or so but I really wanted an automatic watch that would go the distance.
As luck would have it, I was walking around The Gardens Mall post-facial and a watch shop caught my eye. I never usually eye Seiko watches, nor any watch brand in particular as I’m just not that into them but this one caught my eye:
It’s a Seiko 5 automatic ladies watch! All watches in the Seiko 5 range are automatic (do correct me if I’m wrong, am simply re-telling what the SA said) and they are said to be cheaper, and more inferior to the regular Seiko range. I don’t know if this is true but my dad has a Seiko 5 watch and it’s been ticking for over 30 years now.
I chose to go for the watch with a black stainless steel face and bracelet as those silvery ones are so yesterday. =D I’m only kidding! To be honest, this watch isn’t quite the watch I’d go for but I was just so drawn to it that I have to admit, this was quite the impulse purchase as I bought it within 10 minutes of looking at it. Those of you who know me personally would go WTF at that remark.
I’m one of those crazily difficult customers who would browse, browse and browse the store some more. If I wanted a watch in say, this design, I wouldn’t want to buy it off the display unit. Yours truly would actually ask if there’s any “new stock” lurking behind the counter.
If you are an SA, I apologise. But that’s how I shop! =D
In case you were wondering, I bought this watch off the display unit as they only carried one piece in each design.
Another issue that’s always been on my mind would be my two grandmothers. I was lucky enough to get a couple of days off (thank you, dear roster-maker) to head up north to visit. I’m very emotional. Seeing them in this state makes me so sad. Popo always cries when we leave. I wish I never had to leave her. I wish she could come live with us, but alas, things do not always work out the way we want them to.
So we pray.
Another fun thing I’ve been up to this month is… A Dior one-to-one makeover + workshop, thanks to ChloeAsh. I learnt quite a bit from Zaidi, the MUA but I wish it had gone on slightly longer as I did have many a question to ask! Let me know if you would like me to blog about it, and I’ll do my best to oblige. 😉
I haven’t been very frugal this month. O.o
I have got to do a lot better next month! But of course, I’m open to recommendations if there’s this one product you’ve been really loving this month, or if you just want to have a chat! Have a great Sunday, folks! xxx
