Bifesta Cleansing Express Sebum Cleansing Lotion

Water-based cleansers. Mention them in the beauty blogging world and one brand immediately comes to mind: Bioderma.

Unfortunately, Bioderma isn't easily available in Malaysia. I have seen it in Watsons when I was in Thailand. I can't quite say the same about Singapore as I have not visited in many years!

Closer home, and easily available comes the Bifesta range of water-based cleansers!

There are different ranges to the Bifesta Cleansing Express Cleansing Lotions to cater to various skin types but I have the Sebum variant today, which leans towards combination / oily skin!

When it comes to non-rinse cleansers, I tend to gravitate towards the combination skin products as I am a tad worried that the more moisturising cleansers may break me out!

Just before I proceed, I would like to add that I am not in a long-term relationship with such cleansers as I see no need to use them unless I am travelling! If I'm grounded, I prefer using my trusty Kose Softymo Cleansing Oil as I am not keen on using too many cotton pads to remove all the makeup from my face!

However, when I'm on the road, water-based cleansers come out tops as they work a lot quicker than cleansing oils (dry hands to dry face, emulsify etc) and just as well.

I've tested the Bifesta Cleansing Lotion and I have to say it's pretty good too! It doesn't sting and removes face makeup pretty well (mine, at least)! This does not remove the mascara I wear! I only wear Shiseido's Perfect Mascara Defining Volume which doesn't budge unless I use a separate eye makeup remover.

Thought I'd let you in on how I remove my makeup with this product! I always use at least three cotton pads because I like making sure not a single bit of makeup is left on my face!

I douse cotton pad #1 generously with the Cleansing Lotion before sweeping it over my T-zone first before moving outwards to my cheeks. I then flip the cotton pad over and do the same.

Cotton pad #2 doesn't get as much Cleansing Lotion (but make sure it's still wet enough!) and I do the same. The second cotton pad should look reasonably clean at this point!

The final cotton pad should come off clean with no makeup left on it! Personally, I'd go all out and take on cotton pad number four if the third one still bears some residual makeup. =D

This has never irritated my skin, which makes it a godsend! It's affordable as well! I paid about RM30 for this but it always goes on offer at Watsons so keep your eyes peeled for them!

Do you like water-based cleansers / micellar cleansers?
