What’s in my gym beauty bag?

As you know, I have embarked on a journey to get fit. Fast. =D Losing weight comes in at second priority. Alright, who am I kidding?

I usually hit the gym before I start work so a nice long shower together with skincare and makeup is very much needed before I face yet another work day!

Time is not something I have much of so I try not to bring too many products with me. However, readers who know what I’m like would go

Yeah, there she goes again, chucking every single darn item into her bag!

I fit all my skincare and makeup into this rather beat-up white bag:

Gym beauty bag

Hint: It is pretty stuffed in there. lol!

I take a nice hot shower before everything else and this is what I bring with me, into the shower:

Kose Perfect cleansing oil L'occitane shower gel Kiehls deodorant Shiseido White Lucent cleanser

1. Kose Seikisho Perfect Cleansing Oil

Cleansing oil to remove sunscreen. Just to clarify this: I do not wear makeup when working out. Lol!

2. L’occitane Shower Gel

Just your average shower gel. I throw in whatever I can find and this one’s about to be used up so in it goes into my toiletries bag!

3. Kiehl’s Superbly Efficient Anti-Perspirant and Deodorant

Erm, does what it says on the tube.

4. Shiseido White Lucent Cleanser

Creamy, foamy goodness in one tube! I like how clean my skin feels after using this but it can be a tad drying for those with dry skin.

Now that we’ve had a shower, let’s move on to slapping products onto our face!

Gym beauty bag contents

This, my dears is what I stuff into my white makeup bag! Not doing too bad, are we? 😉 I’ll start with skincare, before moving on to the more important bit: Makeup.

1. Cellnique Soothing and Hydrating Lotion (review)

I decant this into a little glass perfume atomiser (it’s hidden behind my Skin Signature moisturiser). I need a spritz of this before toner is applied. Soothing and I love the subtle ginger scent that comes with this.

2. SK-II Facial Treatment Clear Lotion

Toning lotion that wipes the remaining grime off my face.

3. SK-II Cellumination Mask-In-Lotion

One of my favourite products from the brand. It hydrates and preps skin for absorption of serum but in this case, I did not use any as time is something I haven’t got on my hands!

4. SK-II Facial Treatment Essence

It’s been sitting in my bag but I have only ever used this once. Hehe.

5. SK-II Skin Signature Cream

I usually use this cream at night as it’s slightly richer than what I’d use in the day but I am not applying any serums so this works just fine for me.

6. Shiseido Perfect UV Protector SPF50 (review)

I never ever step out of the house without this so it is a must have. Wherever I am. The boyfriend once joked that if we lived in complete darkness I’d still wear this around.

7. Shiseido Maquillage Essential White Base UV

A good base for powder makeup. Used to use it religiously but I have been slacking lately.

So 7 skincare products isn’t half bad… Is it? Onto makeup!

The makeup I have here is what I usually wear to work on a daily basis, as I mentioned in an earlier post.

I always start off with concealer in this case as I am not wearing liquid foundation:

Laura Mercier Secret Concealer 1

Laura Mercier’s Secret Concealer in Shade 1

You must be thinking, oh Sukie why did you purchase another concealer when you said you were so very happy with THIS holy grail concealer of yours?

Truth is… I broke the hinge of my Creme de La Mer concealer and it’s made it rather immobile… I don’t want to risk breaking any other parts further and I wanted one where I could just slip into this bag without having to take it out all the time. Size was another factor and the Laura Mercier Secret Concealer fit the mold! I like this so much better over the Bobbi Brown one but this needs an entire post of its own. 😉

Topshop Cream Blush Neon Rose

I favour cream blush over powder as I cannot be bothered to carry more than one brush (saving space, yo) so this goes on nicely primed skin where I simply ‘dot and blend’!

Laura Mercier Tender Rose Mineral Powder SPF15

Laura Mercier Tender Rose Mineral Powder SPF15

Tender Rose is actually a little too dark / pink for me but this apparently is the lightest shade we get in Malaysia! Applied with a careful hand, this looks really natural and it covers redness really, really well. A little strange considering it has really pink undertones.

Sigma Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki F80

Sigma Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki F80

Finally, my only tool of the trade! =p I have been using this Flat top Kabuki brush from Sigma for mineral powder application and it works so well for me! A small amount of powder is all I’ll ever need to cover up the redness around my nose and chin area (where the redness is at its worst especially after a warm shower). All I do is just buff, buff and buff some more. 😉

All these, paired with a tinted lip balm / lipstick and I’m ready to face a day at work! Do you work out? What’s in your gym beauty bag?

I really like your picks–it’s a well-edited bunch of products that are useful and easy to use. I am very curious about the LM concealer. I used to LOVE Bobbi Brown’s creamy concealer. Still do but I find it doesn’t work AS well for my undereye area anymore–it seems to accentuate dryness (still works great for spot concealing though!). I would be interested to try a similar formula like LM’s except one that is hydrating like this one is. Of course, I really want to try the La Mer one you reviewed even more but EEK–so pricey! 😛 I do love my Giorgio Armani Maestro concealer though–it’s truly amazing and is the best I’ve tried for undereyes but ahh I am fickle 😛 haha

Hello gorgeous! Thank you very much!! I used to detest the LM concealer for a while as I felt that it made my mascara smudge! I have since gotten over it (layering is key here =D) and I guess using my La Mer one raised the bar for all other concealers out there! I can't quite use the Bobbi one (had it swatched in store and eyen tried it out under my eyes but the SA recommended Warm Ivory to me, which I found to be a tad too dark for my skin tone.) Sales Assistant was pretty adamant that's my 'perfect match' so I decided to walk away. Moreover, BB's creamy concealer creased on me, so that's a no-buy! I really, really want to try GA's Maestro products and you're not helping!! =D I wish they sold it here in Malaysia as I have no idea on what shade to pick should I want to buy it +___+
