Creme de La Mer The Radiant Concealer 01 Light review

Ah! Easily my favourite, most Holy Grail concealer I have used to date! Purchased back on the 25th of August, 2012, this post has not seen daylight even though it has been one of my most requested posts.

I have a few *cough* excuses for you today. Before I proceed, allow me to present you a photo of this beautiful product, in its beautiful box:

Creme de La Mer The Radiant Concealer 01

It took me over 6 months to review this, and the first, and main reason why I did so was because….

I did not know how to review this.

I only had one thing on my mind ever since I started drafting this post:

I LIKE THIS. VERY MUCH. EVERYONE SHOULD GIVE IT A GO.

Yep. That’s it. Then came the other problem:

I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PHOTOGRAPH MY EYES.

(I still don’t but for the sake of this review, please bear with my extremely bad eye shots)

I have never taken shots of me unboxing a product but for some reason there were many photos of this lovely product in its box so here’s another:

Hehe.

Let’s move on to the product, shall we?

Everyone knows about Creme de La Mer’s expensive cream. I think its cheapest, and smallest sized cream retails at about RM500. When people heard that I purchased this beauty which made me a good £45 poorer, they thought I’d gone nutters.

Nutters indeed, my lovelies but I shall tell you why I took the plunge!

1. It contains 3.5g of product, as opposed to Bobbi Brown’s creamy concealer / corrector which only contains 1.4g and it retails here in Malaysia for about RM95 (close to £20)

2. It comes with a brush! =D

Okay I was joking about that but yes, it comes with a nifty little brush that’s perfect for spot concealing! I prefer using my fingers for my undereye area. 😉

Here’s what the brand has to say about the product:

A treatment cream concealer that optically corrects dark circles and blemishes to create a naturally flawless finish.

Gemstones capture light energy to camouflage dark circles and blemishes, optically erasing imperfections to create a smooth, even finish.

Precious marine and plant extracts help reduce the appearance of undereye puffiness, lines and wrinkles and minimise pores.

Redness and discoloration are diminished as skin is continuously calmed and soothed. Fine layers provide buildable coverage.

Skin stays naturally flawless all day.

Before I forget, this comes with SPF25 too! I do not apply sunscreen under my eye area so this is very helpful!

Here’s what the concealer looks like under sunlight:

I use the lightest shade available: 01 Light. There are only three shades in this range and my tanned friends have complained that even the darkest shade is a tad too light for them! I recommend getting yourself matched before trying this out because the shades do run pretty light.

The product is pretty solid but melts upon skin contact. A light dab on the pan with my ring finger is all I need to conceal one eye. That’s how lovely this product is!

I found that using the brush picks up too much concealer and this just makes my eye area look a little cakey but the brush is great for spot concealing / blending out the concealer after applying it with my fingers!

Here’s another look of the product, untouched  with the photo taken under some very nice, shady trees (which I happen to miss very much):

So I suppose now most of you are waiting for an arm swatch!

I hate to break this to you but…. I forgot to do an arm swatch but I hope an eye swatch makes up for it!

I did take photos of my “untouched” undereye area but close ups of it made me think I’d give anyone nightmares so here’s one with concealer applied, unblended:

The concealer’s yellow based, by the way! Note how I just randomly dab it all over my undereye area. ‘Xcuse the unruly brows. It’s been yonks since I last shaped them.

I felt it wouldn’t do justice to this amazing product if I did not show you a before and after pic so…. In the next photo, one eye has been “concealed to perfection”, as I’d like to put it and the other reveals what’s underneath all that concealer! I am not wearing foundation in the photo either so you can see what the product looks like on my bare skin:

Can you guess which eye has been concealed? 😉

Since purchasing this concealer, I have purchased concealers from other brands as the Creme de La Mer Radiant Concealer is not available in Malaysia. =( I have been trying to stretch this little pot as far as possible! But nothing else conceals my dark circles as well as this one.

What’s your favourite concealer? Has my thoughts on this product made you want to run out and buy one? Please share! =D

oooh I’ve been WAITING for your review of this one! I’ve heard lots and lots of good things about this one and now I REALLY want it! Crazy that I’m even CONSIDERING paying that much for a concealer as concealer is one of those products that I normally have about zero interest in! But this one looks great–it really is beautiful on your skin! Brightens very well but doesn’t look obvious at all! 😀

It surely does, Becca! I should take a photo of the concealer in the pot… 6 months on =D I barely made a dent, usage-wise but I accidentally damaged part of the surface as my brother decided to give me the shock of my life while I was holding the product and my nail accidentally dug into it. +___+ It's really worth the money and please let me know if you give it a go! =D

    Finally!!!

It does cover very well, this one. I shouldn’t even be thinking this, but it’s very tempting to get one. I vowed to myself not to buy another concealer until I use up one, or until one goes bad. LOL!

Yes this does cover extremely well without creasing! How do you think this one compares to RMS Beauty's concealer in terms of coverage? =D
