As the Chinese New Year celebrations come to an end, I sit here, nursing a bloated tummy and some weight gain as I have been doing naught but stuff myself silly with various CNY goodies.
Unfortunately, I did not take many photos when I went back to visit my grandmothers but! I have a little what-makeup-i-used-while-in-my-hometown shot for you. =)
I did my very best to travel light so here’s what I brought!
The weather in Northern Peninsula Malaysia is extremely hot during this time of the year so the most important item is my base, which needs to stay put all day and not slide down my face. After applying sunscreen, I spread a thin layer of MUFE HD Primer on my face.
I then let the primer sink into my skin a little, allowing it to create a smooth veil on my face before gently working the Dior Diorskin Nude Foundation, focusing on areas where redness hits my skin most: nose and chin before applying whatever remains on my fingers all over the rest of the face.
I then use a small amount of the La Mer Concealer under my eye area. I sometimes do a little spot concealing with this but I was blessed with pretty good skin over the holidays so that was not necessary.
Moving on to eyes! I carried Inglot’s Freedom System 4 Eyeshadow Palette with me as it has not been used very much and was a gift from the boyfriend. =D Of course, one needs to prime one’s oily lids beforehand so Urban Decay’s Primer Potion came to the rescue! =p
It’s then eyelash curling time! Armed with my trusty Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers, I managed to transform my really sad straight lashes into reasonably curled ones. My smudge-proof mascara from Shiseido then made sure those lashes stayed in place all day.
With my eyes done, I go back to my base. A light dusting of Guerlain’s Perles d’Azur Meteorites followed with some blush and lipstick from the same brand and I’m good to go! I wore the Guerlain Rouge G Orange Euphorique throughout my entire trip, be it with or without makeup.
An entire look takes only 10 minutes to do and I’m really happy with my selection this time round as it takes me from day to night easily enough! =)
Have a lovely Saturday!
