Extended List of Products Brought

After my hefty two-part travel product post, I just had to shock all of you with another products-I-took-to-Penang post, many moons later, naturally. 😉

Without further ado, here we go!

1. Bourjois Perfect 123 foundation in shade 51

I have not reviewed this as i've got rather mixed feelings about this product. When using it in the UK I felt it worked better than my HG Healthy Mix foundation. Upon coming home Mum noted my skin seemed patchy when using this and that it was a good two shades darker than my actual skin colour. The horror! I have not used it since but I brought it with me to Penang to 'try-out'. Still, I chickened out at the end as there is no way I'm going to present myself to distant relatives looking like streaky bacon.

2. Estée Lauder Invisible Fluid Makeup

I love the texture, but accidentally purchased it in a good 3 shades too dark for myself. I was going to do Mum's and Aunt's (who is slightly tanner than we are) makeup so I lugged this along. In the end, this didn't get used either.

3. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in shade 51

This foundation has got to be the best drugstore / pharmacy branded one I've ever used. Well I actually purchased Rimmel's Match Perfection foundation to try out as I've heard good things about it but that's a story for another day! The Healthy Mix needs no introduction and I will keep having a bottle in my stash for along as I can. This is still my very first bottle, by the way!

4. Dior Diorskin Nude Foundation in 011

This may well be my foundation of the year. But I am not setting it in stone just yet for fear of finding something even better. I wore this (squeezing in Healthy Mix every now and then) throughout my Penang trip and it kept my skin looking flawless in all weather conditions. It rained and was pretty humid then and not having my makeup slide about my face is one true plus for me. This has also surpassed my previously loved Guerlain Parure de Lumiere foundation as I am now convinced I should have purchased the yellow based foundation shade and not the pink based one I'm stuck with. 🙁

1. Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in SC-2

A face-saving product, an industrial-strength concealer that hides zit scars like no other. Well-loved and used by yours truly during the entire trip.

2. MUFE HD Face Primer

Now that I remember I always used this prior to applying my base products, it could very well be that this product really works for me. Then again this is the best face primer I've used to date. Any other recommendations?

3. MAC MSF Natural in Light Medium

A gift from a dear friend, this comes off a tad dark on my skin if I use nothing else but this. However, it works really well as a setting powder. A light dusting is all you need and I see myself hitting pan on this in a few months should I still be using this at this rate.

1. Urban Decay Naked Palette

The main eyeshadow palette I relied on throughout the trip. The trick was to look polished and not overdone. I staunchly believe this palette helped me achieve that look. :p Or not!

2. Lancôme's Erika F eyeshadow

A delicious taupe-y green eyeshadow that has a ton of glitter I can't seem to live without these days. Worn with the Naked palette, this blows a fresh breath of air into a simple look and turns it into something stunning. I rarely wax lyrical over an eye product as you know what I'm like with them: hopeless. Erika F looks gorgeous when applied on the center of the lid over a neutral eye. Try it, and you will love it just the way Lily and I do. 😉

3. Guerlain Selection de ete Terracotta palette

I did attempt to contour / bronze but I went with a hand so light you can barely see chiselled cheeks. Haha!

4. Guerlain Les ombrés de Nuit 4-colour eyeshadow

Loved it, wore it in the Femme Boulevard post (not putting a link as it's a post I'm rather embarrassed of) and was going to wear it to the wedding banquet but didn't want to be labelled crazy by relatives. So I stuck with neutrals in the end. Think I should have worn this loud and proud instead? Let me know!

5. Shiseido Perfect Mascara Defining Volume

Every girl whose lashes will not hold a curl and has mascara smudging on them all the time needs to try this. 'Nuff said.

6. Shu Uemura Hard Brow Pencil

I just lightly fill my brows in as I know I can't go wrong with this pencil. :p

1. Sleek Blush By 3 in Lace
3 blushes in one palette makes it such a joy for travel! I love this very much. So much that I use it nearly everyday.
2. Topshop cream blush in Neon Rose
A cream blush for times when no makeup is needed. I prefer looking polished still so a very light layer of foundation and cream blush does the trick!
3. Shiseido Maquillage Face Creator 3D in I-forgot-its-code
Sorry! :p Having a lazy moment now so I couldn't bring myself to look up the code. Used this on my 86-year-old grandma and she seemed to like it very much. 🙂

So that's the last bit of my Penang trip!
On a personal note, I've finally started work and am into my second week now. Work seems…. Okay and I've met some truly lovely people so fingers crossed for everything else! I have not been buying many items from the beauty world as stuff at home doesn't seem to tempt me very much. Sad but true! This means I've resorted to purchasing items online and I can see this may do potential damage to my wallet in the long run. Hehe.
Okay I'll stop all that verbal diarrhoea and let you lovelies get on with life! Hello and thank you if you are still hanging around, I'm still adapting to a whole new lifestyle (my work hours are slightly nocturnal) and Mum whips me out of bed in the mornings for mall trips so this leaves me with no time to blog!
No, I can't exactly blog at work as my new colleagues may think I'm a nut head. :p
Here's to my next post! Lovely day, everyone!

Oh yes I am a walking lump of bacon. 😉 I\’m a little sad the Bourjois foundations don\’t work for you when one of my favourite foundations in the world comes from the brand but….. Dior comes really, really close! 😉 Nothanks to you, of course!
