Glasses have played a huge role in my life and I am rarely in contact lenses. However, I have always played it safe in terms of frame selection: regular half-rimmed / rimless glasses have adorned my face for the last 14 years and I usually go for small rectangular frames, avoiding the larger, more adventurous-looking lenses.
When Firmoo offered me the chance to review a pair of glasses, I happily selected a pair that looked something like this:
Black framed glasses are certainly a first for me and I was rather apprehensive about wearing them when they arrived. Firmoo provides the wearer with both a hard and soft case with a really soft cleaning cloth which feels as if it’s made out of suede.
Before I go any further, this may be of interest to those of you four-eyed lovelies (like me!) Firmoo offers a free pair of glasses for first time buyers:
You only pay for shipping costs, which is amazing so do check out this link to find out more! Do note that they are currently upgrading their system but the Free Glasses program will resume on October 7th! =)
Also, what I think sets Firmoo apart from other online glasses retailers is their cool virtual “try-on” application where you can upload a passport-sized photo of yourself and place various frames on your face to see if it fits! I spent a good hour (perhaps more) on the website thanks to this app as I had many a laugh at myself when I tried on frames that didn’t suit my fat, long-ish face! =D
Delivery was prompt and I received my glasses within 10 working days, as promised and the glasses were well wrapped with bubble wrap and placed in a padded envelope as to protect them from being damaged.
The end result? A nerdy me! Note that I only have minimal eye makeup on and I’ve decided to go bare faced for this look so feast your eyes on all those blemishes! 😉
I found the frame to be slightly heavier than what I’m used to but it is not unbearable. The family had a good laugh when they saw me in them and I have since been wearing them around and make a rather cute accessory. What do you think? =)
Many thanks, Firmoo for taking me out of my comfort zone! =D
