Review: Leaders Clinic Clinie Teatree Healing Mask

Hello everyone! I’m a huge fan of sheet masks so I was thrilled when Hansaegee Nature sent me 2 masks of my choice to review. I chose their Teatree Healing Solution Mask as I was suffering from a bad breakout then.

Isn’t the thumbs-up pen cute? =D

Hansaegee Nature carries the Leaders Clinic Clinie brand whereby the products are developed by dermatologists in Seoul, Korea. Recently, Leader’s Clinic has been renamed Beauty Clinic whereby their products are 100% Korean manufactured with patented formulation through clinical trials. Having won 5 patents, Beauty Clinic continuously strives to develop higher quality products through the use of cutting-edge medical technology products to improve and further enhance their users’ skin condition.

The Teatree Healing Solution Masks contains Teatree Oil, Pine Needle and Portulaca Oleracea extract which helps soothe and minimise breakouts. I was a little sceptical on how a mask can help with breakouts but my skin was breaking out at an astonishing rate that I was willing to give anything a go just to calm my reactive skin down.

Upon opening the packet, this mask drips with essence!

The silk cellulose sheet mask is designed to adhere to the skin and allow maximum absorbtion. I am happy to say that the sheet feels sturdy and is rather thick, unlike sheet masks of some brands where I worry I may just tear the mask apart with my grubby fingers. =)

The mask is big enough for my big face so I’ll give a huge thumbs up for this!

Pardon me being in my PJs, I like putting on masks before I head to bed as my perfect way to unwind after a long day is to curl up in bed with a book in my hand and a sheet mask on my face =)
Leaders Clinic recommends the mask is used twice a week for optimal results but I found the mask to be a little drying for me. Then again, I suppose the Teatree Healing Solution Mask is meant to be a little drying as to dry those zits up! Upon first use, I find that the redness on my nose and chin area (where the breakouts are at their worse) has been considerably reduced although I did wake up with slightly dry patches around my cheeks as my skin’s drier there. Breakouts-wise, I did not experience any miraculous disappearing of spots overnight but it helped minimise some of the larger (and angrier) ones.
I had quite a bit of leftover serum / essence from the sheet mask and I continued applying them onto the zits and the breakouts on my chin healed in about a week!
I actually cut the mask up for my second use as my cheeks couldn’t quite tolerate the drying properties of this mask and kept the remaining sheets in a ziplock bag!
Retailing at RM8.90 each, this mask has helped me tremendously with those dreadful breakouts but be sure to moisturise your face after as this can be drying for dry-skinned gals!

Do you use sheet masks? What are your fail-proof remedies for breakouts? Do share them with me as my skin has been extremely temperamental of late… =(

The Epiphany

Hello lovelies,

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged as so much has been going on in my life and I have to admit, I’m drowning. Having no Internet access rendered this blog post-less and the drama that ensued didn’t help either.

It’s been a trying time. Ever been betrayed by a friend? I have. Many a time. This got me thinking, wondering if I myself am a bad friend, thus prompting such returns. Quarter-life crisis, I ponder? Maybe. Maybe not.

Then there are ‘friends’ who never hesitate to diss you, who are such superficial beings to the point of it being disgusting (for me, at least).

Such are the woes of growing old. *sighs*

Am currently in the midst of sieving my thoughts, doing some soul-searching simultaneously.

Lovelies, thank you all for staying with me in this difficult time and I will be back as soon as I can. Promise.

May peace an joy be with you all.

Much love,
Sukie xxx

P/S: I’m a die-hard Batik fan. Here’s my new painstakingly handmade patchwork batik bag bought from Malacca.
You don’t need very much to cheer yourself up. All you need is some retail therapy and all’s good.

If only it was this easy.

MAC Shop MAC, Cook MAC Tendertone in Hush, Hush

Hush, everyone! MAC’s Shop MAC, Cook MAC collection will only be released in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, to be exact) on the 7th of March but look what I’ve got! =)
MAC’s Tendertone in Hush, Hush! =D
The Shop MAC, Cook MAC collection has been released in the US as well as throughout Europe (methinks) and the kind Hanny  informed me of this one. As a lip balm fan, the Tendertones in this collection caught my attention and hence, this pretty thing walked away with me!
Don’t you just love the checked print on the box? ;)

As I mentioned earlier, this collection will only be launched on the 7th of March in Kuala Lumpur where there will be a massive event at Midvalley Megamall from the 7th – 11th of March! Thanks to Miss Zuey of MAC Suria KLCC, I have a shot of what the collection will look like!!
*Please pardon the blurry photo, Miss Zuey did send me MANY photos over WhatsApp but as the file sizes are a little small, they come out blurry on the blog so I’m only posting this one!

Anyway, I thought I’d just do a really quick review of this Tendertone! MAC calls this

‘the next generation lip conditioner that combines the look of a gloss and the conditioning benefits of a balm with SPF 12 sun protection. Features a light strawberry-kiwi flavour.’

I love lipgloss but I don’t like the idea of pumping the applicator in and out of the tube as it’s rather unhygienic. Having said so, lip balm in tubs are unhygienic too as you constantly dip your fingers into them but I do sanitise my lip balms by lightly spritzing some alcohol onto the product once a week! I’m not sure if this affects the quality / texture of the lip balms but I haven’t experienced any adverse effects!

The Tendertones got me really excited as it’s a hybrid between a balm and a gloss – the two things that got me excited about make up in the first place so I just had to check this out for myself and see how they fare!!

Hush, Hush is a sheer peachy shade (looks slightly coppery / orange in the tub) with fine gold shimmer.  This lip balm has a bouncy, gel-like texture to it which reminded me of Chanel’s Illusion d’Ombre! The above photo was taken with flash as I couldn’t get the pretty gold shimmer to show up without the flash on.

I only bought this today so I quickly took a swatch of this little hybrid wonder on my arm:

It took about two swipes for the colour to show on my arm. On the lips, there is no colour to it at all but it gave my lips a subtle sheen! I can’t say very much for now as I have only used it once (applied this on top of my lipstick at the store) but my first impressions are:

1. This is not sticky.

2. The scent! They say it smells like strawberry-kiwi but I smell sugary sweets that make me hungry +___+

3. Does give you the finish lipglosses normally do!

To end this post, here’s a flyer for you KL-based ladies and gents out there should you be interested in attending the launch of this collection!

Here’s the ingredient list:

So far, this is one of my favourite MAC releases! Other products I’m eyeing are their lipsticks (Dish It Up for instance) as well as that Optismistic Orange Cream Blush! =D

Have you seen this collection yet? What are your thoughts on them?

February Favourites and Giveaway Winner!!

Hi everyone!! How was February for you? I picked up quite a few gems last month and I would like to share them with you! =)
Firstly, I re-discovered Sigma brushes, thanks to Lily ! I got 3 Sigma brushes from her blog sale and here they are:
I’ve never featured any brushes on this blog as I lack sufficient knowledge in the brush department and the last thing I want is to provide my lovely readers with the wrong information! :s By the way, the iNuovi Professional eyeshadow brush is from my personal collection and I bought it 4 years ago! It still looks brand new because I rarely get any use out of it due to my non-existent eyeshadow applying skills. :s
Back to the Sigma Brushes!! These brushes still have the old labels on them but I will provide you with their new ‘names’ for easier reference!

1. Sigma F25 Tapered Face Brush
A large domed brush with a tapered tip, which makes powder application easier as the tapered tip gets into the harder to reach areas on the face e.g. sides of the nose! I’m not sure if the brush is made out of natural hair / synthetic material but this brush does shed a little and feels a little scratchy but I don’t really mind it as I love the tapered tip so much! <3
2. Sigma E50 Large Fluff Brush
Sigma calls this a versatile Fluff Brush but I call this my HG highlighter brush! I rarely get any use out of my highlighters because I do not know how to apply them *gasp* but this brush is the perfect size for highlighter application! Just sweep some highlighter on your cheekbones and you’re ready to go! Again the brush feels a little scratchy but this hasn’t shed since I got it!
3. Sigma E20 Flat Shader Brush
Great for blending out eye liner / applying eyeshadow to my lower lash line! The bristles are short and densely packed which makes application a breeze. Thankfully this brush isn’t as scratchy as the others as I wouldn’t want to use a scratchy brush on my eye area!
4. iNuovi Professional Shadow Shader Brush
I bought this on a whim a good 4 years ago, when I knew nothing about brushes what more eyeshadows… I stopped by the iNuovi counter at Parkson in Sunway Pyramid (iNuovi’s no longer available there) where this shy SA recommended this brush to me. It’s made out of red sable hair and cost me RM68. A bomb, I reckon but 4 years, and many washes later this brush is still as soft as it was and picks up powder eyeshadows brilliantly! My favourite and best eyeshadow brush to date!
I’ve tried, and am very impressed with the Shiseido Aqua Label white series:
The foaming cleanser foams up beautifully and leaves my skin really soft after each wash! I wish I didn’t have so many cleanser samples to use up or I will get myself a full-sized tube. The White Up Lotion R works okay for me, no breakouts whatsoever and my skin feels really fresh after using this! I expected the emulsion to be a little sticky but this turned out to be really light and sinks into the skin quickly! Having a travel-sized set meant I haven’t been able to use the range long enough to experience any whitening effects but this is a very good affordable brand to look into should anyone be looking for a basic cleanse, tone and moisturise routine!
I highly recommend the cleanser!! Best cleanser I’ve used from a drugstore brand!
A little bit on make up now =)
I’ve been using the Pond’s Magic Powder quite a bit this month as it’s incredibly easy to use and you do not need to use a brush with this! This deserves a proper review so I will not elaborate much here. I dug out my beloved Healthy Mix Foundation in #51 this month, after using its sister – Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation for over two months and I’ve been getting a lot of compliments when I wear the Healthy Mix Foundation! I wonder why =p
Also, I have been trying really hard to incorporate a brow routine into my everyday look. I’ve been better this month and the Shu Uemura brow pencil has been used a little more! Yay to that! ;)
My lips have been getting some TLC too as the Kiehl’s Lip Balm with SPF15 has been getting quite a lot of use, mostly due to the fact that it’s got SPF in it! I find it difficult to slick lipstick over this lip balm as it is very greasy so I wear this on days when I know the sun will be ‘caressing’ my face.
That’s all for February’s Favourites!!! On to a more important announcement now….. My Giveaway winner!!
The winner is……..
MICHELLE BEH!

Bottoms Up: February Empties!

Another month, another empties post!

First up, my HG hair conditioner – L’occitane’s 3 Essential Oils Repairing Conditioner!
This is the older version of the L’occitane Conditioner Stephanie reviewed  which I managed to bag from Bicester Village’s L’occitane outlet last year! I buy my L’occitane hair products in bulk where I’ll head to Bicester Village twice a year (sometimes more) just to stock up on L’occitane and *cough* Cath Kidston *cough*  hehehe!
Neutrogena’s Deep Clean Ultra Foam Cleanser
Aah… Another self-foaming cleanser! The Kose Softymo Airy Whip left such an impact on me that I just had to rush out to purchase another self-foaming cleanser! Sadly, the product did not live up to my expectations and I needed at least 3-4 pumps of the product for my face. The Deep Clean Cleanser is simply a very basic cleanser which does its job. However, the fact that it only took me slightly over a month to go through this makes me wonder if it’s actually worth the RM22.90 spent? Maybe it’s just me using too much product at a go but I found 2 pumps insufficient and my T-zone was still oily after my morning wash, which is why I had to use extra pumps of it to get my face thoroughly clean.
Clinique’s Moisture Surge Gel

This has been in my skin care routine for years now! It’s a no-frills moisturiser that simply moisturises and gives you happy, soft skin! No anti-aging properties whatsoever. Just loads of moisture! Clinique recommends we use this on top of a regular moisturiser just to give our skin that extra oomph but I use this as a moisturiser and my combination skin’s happy with that! When I heard Glamour Magazine (UK edition) were giving out Clinique freebies some time last year, I went all over Canterbury and even in London just to dig out all the copies that had a 30ml deluxe-sized Moisture Surge Gel in them!! The magazine costs £2 and a usual 50ml tub of Moisture Surge Gel costs £30 in the UK. I managed to bag 6 tubes of this and this is the third tube I’ve used up!! +___+
Clarins Daily Energizer Wake-Up Booster
The Clarins Daily Energizer range is targeted at people in their 20s where anti-aging products aren’t a concern. I adore this range and I just wish they didn’t cost so much!! I mentioned this in one of my empties post where I used up the Daily Energizer cream and this toner came with the cream! I use this in the mornings when I need a quick pick-me-up as the texture of the toner is rather viscous (think Melvita’s Extraordinary Waters) and the slight citrus scent wakes me up a little, which is great! Sadly, this range is not available in Malaysia!
SK-II Advance Eye Treatment Film
I finally used up my tube of eye gel after 9 months…. Which means I am tardy when it comes to eye cream application!! I admit, I do not use my eye cream most mornings and I usually turn to Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye Cream at night so the poor SK-II Eye Treatment just sits on my dresser table, waiting to be used! Mother has since replenished my stock with a new tube (it’s in White now) so let’s hope I’ll start using this religiously!
Have you used up many products this month? What’s your February Favourite? ;)
