I’ve been very, very bad last month. I do intend to be good this month but then there’s that lust list of mine and this month’s my birthday month (hint, hint, hint!) so knowing myself I’d probably go
‘Awww just treat yourself it’s okay you only celebrate your birthday once a year!’
Taking inspiration (or blatantly copying ideas) from Tine’s post, I decided to do one myself to remind myself it’s FRUGAL September, not SPENDALLYOURMONEY September! =p
Hehe! =p So as you all know, I’m on a quest to find the perfect BB cream and it’s a long and expensive journey, to be honest 🙁 I could have gotten myself 2-3 of Chanel’s Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadows boo hoo!! So onto the BB cream haul!!
1. Holika Holika Peach Girl BB Cream in shade #01
The lovely Julia introduced me to this Ebay seller – Rubyrubyshop who sells quite a nice range of BB creams at quite a reasonable price and most products come with free P&P. I like the fact that this comes with a cream blush in the lid! Perfect for travelling…. Only if it suits my skin tone! I’ve swatched and tried this on and it’s a little dark for me but I suppose there’s nothing a dusting of Guerlain Meteorites can’t do, in the words of the lovely Paris B!
2. Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream in No. 13
I actually e-mailed Rubyrubyshop for advice on choosing BB creams and the seller recommended this as it is for lighter skin tones. I’ve swatched this and it does come out light with slight pink undertones! This is the lightest amongst all the BB creams I’ve swatched and I’m planning to wear it out tomorrow so lets see how it goes! =)
3. Skin79 VIP Gold BB Cream
Lily highly recommended Skin79’s Hot Pink BB cream but Jen’s blog post mentioned that BB cream oxidises to an NC25-30! That’s way too dark for my NC15 and below skin. Then I just had to read Kathi’s post where she mentions both the Hot Pink and Vip Gold suits her skin tone when she’s about an NW15 and that really put me into a dilemma. In the end I decided to give this one a go because it has anti-aging properties mwahaha. Verdict? My face is darker than my neck when applied. Ish. Will do a detailed review once I’ve tried it out a few more times! =)
4. Meishoku Moist Labo BB Essence Cream in #01 Natural
Got this one off Adam Beauty and this is the second Japanese BB cream I’ve purchased! I’ve noticed Japanese BB creams come in smaller bottles and they are more expensive whereas the Korean BB creams seem more generous and are cheaper. I have swatched this one too and it does seem quite nice! Will update once I’ve given it a go. =p
I’m running out of hair conditioners so I decided to get some online! =p My first venture into Japanese Hair Care products.
1. Asience Inner Rich Hair Treatment
I haven’t done a hair treatment in ages so I thought I’d purchase this to see how it goes. It cost around £5 if I’m not mistaken.
2. Philosophy Hair Conditioner
I got this off a blog sale and can’t wait for my Naked Shine Conditioner to run out so I can start using this!
3. Shiseido Tsubaki Hair Conditioner
I’ve heard a lot rave reviews about this product! Or was it the red version I’m not sure! Anyway I’m really excited about trying this out too but I’ve now got to finish the Philosophy Hair Conditioner first =(
On to the stuff that did the most damage…..
1. Dior Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Sculpting Powder Makeup in 020 Beige Praline
I got this when Fenwick’s did a double points offer day! Again, haven’t tried it out but the swatches are promising hehehe!
2. Estee Lauder Illuminating Powder Gelee from the Modern Mercury collection
Caved in to this, thanks to a special someone. When I saw it, I had to have it. I have not touched this one at all because it looks so very pretty. Too pretty for me to sink my grubby fingers onto it’s glossy surface. I hear you can’t get this in Malaysia so I might send it home to Mummy. =)
3. Dior Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Creme-Gel Makeup in 010 Ivory
Blog sale haul! The previous owner only used it 2-3 times so it’s looking pretty new! I’ve sanitized it and I can’t wait to see how this performs although it does look a tad dark in the pan. :s
4. MAC Chez Chez Lame Special Reserve Highlighter Powder from the Cham Pale Collection
Yet another blog sale goodie and this one’s brand new and untouched, yay!
5. Nars Multiple Duo in Portofino/Malibu
My first ever Nars product! My final blog sale goodie and this came at the right moment when I’m actually crazy about cream blushes! =p
6. MAC 217 Brush
Yes, finally I’ve caved into Hanny’s ramblings and got myself this 217 brush. Well technically I got this free as I redeemed it from the Fenwick Beauty Card program whee! Oh so happy. =p
Actually, there’s more. :s There are two Canmake cream blushes sitting patiently in my drawer waiting for me to open them and of course, the Crazy Weekend Blush Haul! =D
Have you been good last month? 😉
